I think it is personal opinion...they both are nice trucks. Though to me the Ford is a real truck with a real suspension...the chevy tries to be more car like. Now that doesn't me it isn't up to the job...that motor and trans in the chevy are great. I just don't like the suspension and i feel the ford has more interior room. Haven't looked at tow ratings in ahwile...but they can't be to far from each other. Also my tranny in my ford works nice, not as great as the allison, but i can't complain about it...

I am a Ford guy, I have not been in any new Chevys that don't say Corvette on them but in a truck I like a straight front axle not IFS. The 6.4 seems to have the power but I am old school with a 7.3.

If I was going to spend the coin on a new truck I would have to drive the Int. MXT.

No..just get tired of all the chest thumping..it's an opinion especially if you dont own the same truck, same year from both different manufactures..They are all good and all 3 do one or two things better than the next guy.

Here is my take on my two 08's dually's...The GMC truck weighs 1000 pounds lighter so naturally acceleration will be slightly faster..and it is..by about 3/10ths of a second to 60...read the magazines, and we have run them sise by side relatively empty to get about the same results...Tranny has majorly improved on the Fords..I rate them about the same, Now... only cause I blew my stock 05 up with just slightly over 200k on it..Motor goes to GMC/Duramax, much more dependable than the 6.0 by everyone's reports..not mine..our 05 Ford has 228k orig miles and still running strong..GMC has 201k. Suspension..hands down Ford when towing and keeping your load in check, comfort about the same, prefer the seats on the Ford cause of longer thigh supports for long hauls. Ride softness with nothing in the bed goes to GMC but only by a slim margin on the 08's, with 100-300 pounds in the bed it's about the same...Turning radius goes to Ford only if you have the special option..turns just like a 450. Interior quality and especially longevity of materials and knobs goes to Ford, hands down. Mileage is better on the GMC by about .5-1.0..when towing it is about .5...I prefer the Ford only cause Im at my limits on trailers 11k and my boat which I wont say ...but I will comment it tows much better with the Ford, and I feel safer at 70 mph than the GMC...and I'm a GMC man by heart....Jeff

Just got my 450 reprogrammed by Ford and I'm getting almost 14 mpg combined driving (city and highway) and not towing. That doesn't sound great but it's with a 4.88 rear. The 6.4 is so quiet, it almost sounds like a gas motor. That alone has made me happy. It turns on a dime and easily tows a huge boat and trailer. The feel with a friend's chevy up front is completely different and it struggles on the grades (although his is a 3500 dually with a lower ratio rear). I have had bad experiences with Chevy trucks so I'm biased but I think the Ford is a great redesigned, repowered vehicle.

I won't drive a Ford until they come with a Duramax/Allison combination...

I'm a full time farmer and part time boater...I've had both. If you want a truck to work hard during the week and look good pulling the boat on the weekends...Ford. If you just want to cruise the local mall...chevy.

Just got back from a 1010 mile round trip bringing a boat home. 17.6 MPG empty...13.4 MPG pulling about 8000lbs 70 loaded 80 empty. I like my 6.4 and the tranny behind it. Keeps me from knowing the mechanics and service manager on a first name business like it used to be with chevy.
