Default Oil Change Interval on Diesels

What is everyone doing for oil and oil change intervals on your diesels? My new 2011 Ford 6.7 recommends 7500 miles. I just changed it at 6000 miles and it seemed like the oil was past due. I changed my 6.0 at 3000 and that seemed overkill. What kind of oil are you using?

I change my 7.3 every 7-9000. Of course it is my daily driver so of those 9000 miles there are times throughout the year when there is NEVER a trailer on it. Even during the summer when I take the boat to the ramp every weekend it is 8 miles to and from.

6-7k on my 7.3, I hardley ever tow but it's my driver and I run faster than most. I just watch it and when I start to use some I change it.

Exhaust Gas Recirculation. Supposed to "reduce" emissions, but in reality it just puts more soot into the intake. Lots of folks have put on EGR blockers to defeat this device. Not sure about the newer DPF and urea burners, but on my 04 Dmax, the EGR valve went out at 50k miles. It is blocked now.
