Going the same miles I saved 45 bucks on the first tank of gas vs if I had the diesel. doing simple math and lets say 1 tank per week that a savings of 2000 dollars a year in fuel savings. I don't know folks but that 2000 more fuel I can put into the boat. And my truck should get better gas mileage in the next couple of months
Also with saving $50 on each of two oil changes per year and not having $70 fuel filter change 1-2 times a year. Plus savings of 100 bucks on insurane looks like this truck can easily save me 2500 this first year and it will be even more if diesel stays way higher than gas

I was certain you'd be happy.

I dont impress easily (understatement) and I was impressed with the EB.

If you look at the money savings it covers insurance, tires, and a bunch of other things.

Congratulations- we need to see some picts.

Was this one of those magical (my buddy) moments when no one had a cell phone, or a camera on them to document a single shred of evidence?

I will try to get some up. Still need to tow. I think boating season is done here but in the next week or so I think im going to take it for a 30min run just to see what it can do.

I have been to another dealer to get a bedliner, and all the salesman at two dealers say they can not keep them on the shelves and you wouldn't believe the HD's getting traded in for them. Which makes sense because there is very few people that actually tow over 10k.

Alright I winterized the boat and figured I need to know how this thing tows. I went 30 miles which was moderately hilly the whole time. Averaged 9.5mpg. Diesel got 10.4 My usual run is 50 miles so diesel would run me 18 bucks there and back the ecoboost 19 bucks. But then again I tow maybe 3 weekends a month between memorial and labor day. Boat weighs 10 grand.

Acceleration from a stop or while moving I would say is even if not better in the ecoboost.

Braking is probably a little less effiecient than what the diesel was, but not a major difference.

As far as control no difference.

Granted I only went 30 miles but it was more hilly than your average driving. I would say the ecoboost was no difference or better in most categories.

Buddy of mine bought a 2011 Lariat Ecoboost Screw a couple months ago. Sent me a note yesterday saying he lost the tranny at 5,800 miles due to the leaking pump problem they are having with certain 2011 trucks. Keep an eye out for leaks. Otherwise he loves the truck.

I was in the market for a diesel, also not happy with the steady cost of the stuff. My boat with gear only weighs in at less than 7k. I have a Titan now and it pulls it fine, but with the longtube headers and all that jazz, its a little loud for towing. I am looking to get into something more... comfortable... for towing. I plan on traveling with the boat (28 Nordic Heat). Closest lake for me is about a 70 mile round trip from the house and back. I live in Texas so hills are rare, but long drives are not. Ecoboost worth it for me to look at? I am stuck in Kuwait right now and may be able to walk into AAFES care sales tomorrow and start talking turkey if it is My Titan by the way gets about 10mpg without towing (dynoed at 320/360 to the wheels on 20s, so it likes the throttle, may be my fault) but I am sure the EB can beat the mpg even with a lead foot. Thanks gents!
