yeah the simmonz glass coat is what they call it and have looked it up not something you can just buy. They sell it in a like a glass jar and dealer wipes on. Its looks great, but like you said the results are mixed, the only reason I think you have controversy is the price tag if it were 100 bucks you would probably have more positive reviews.

A detail on a fullsize truck with the GOOD stuff runs about the same price as having the entire truck simonized inside and out so I feel it was a wash.. The installer said it had to be heated up during the application process or something.. And they have a bunch of ridiculous claims like "don't have to wax again for 5 years!" and stuff like that.. But as far as protection against scratches and sap, it has my vote..

yeah I watched it the history channel and they sent some black BMW through the wash 110 times and without drying and it came out like factory. Definitely an intriguing product for sure.

My only question is if the product was a god send meaning you dont have to wash and wash for 5 years and it stays like new why is Simmonz not marketing to the consumer for retail sale. Unless they figure that selling 1000 a year at 450 a pop is better then a million a year at 20 bucks. But cool none the less.

Just took a trip from Stevens Point, WI to Milwaukee for a Brewers game yesterday. 75-80 MPH and I was at 20.8 MPG. I also have the 3.31's but only a 26 gallon tank.

Have you hooked it up to the 29 Outlaw yet? I'm interested to hear about how it does pulling it. Well, I know it will 'pull' it fine, I guess I mean stopping it.

mine stops my 29 the same as the diesel did. It dont matter what tow vehicle you have when boats starting getting this big if your trailer brakes suck forget it.

Very true. What does your trailer have for brakes?

Pretty amazing for a 1/2 ton truck.
Glad you are happy with it - I'd feel pretty bad if you weren't.

just standard surge brakes work pretty well, could be better thinking about replacing with disk brakes next spring, but well see. trailer only has a set of two, anybody see tandems with 4 brakes.

I am simply impressed by this vehicle. braking is the same, acceleration and MPG is better than the 6.4l I had. The only thing the diesel had was an extra 1000lbs of payload and in truth you couldnt feel the boat as much.

Not to mention the truck saves me $2500 a year in fuel, 50 less a year on registration, insurance is 100 cheaper a year for a 3 year newer vehicle. oil changes and such save me 100 bucks plus a year.

When I went and looked back and saw the diesel was costing me close to an extra 3 grand a year to operate it blew my mind. And that was with moving too and an extra 25miles a day round trip to work.
