derstand that the HD payload gives you the 7 lug wheels. Not crazy about the tires that came with it at all. I foresee them being replace with something a little more suitable for my needs in the very near future.

Buck

I hated the stock Pirelli's on my 2010 FX-4. Ford replaced all 4 wheels this summer due to the clear coat peeling off of them so I took them a set of Cooper Zeon LTZ's in 275/60/20 to install on the new rims. They are an inch taller than stock (33" vs. 32"). Very happy with them.

I had a 3.55 geared FX-4 and now a 3.73. The 3.55 geared one I had only 45 days, actually just made my first pmt, and then lost it in this last storm we had. So the dealer located another FX-4 ECO with 6.5 bed...Just got back from Nashville and drove 75-79mph and got 17.4 from the time we left, including all the inner city driving and then back home..and this was with the 3.73 gears. The 3.55 gears is good for about 1 to 1.5 better mpg..but I believe is rated for 9500lbs towing. Power wise its hard to tell the difference, but towing the same boat it is just slightly better, quicker in midrange. On the 3.55 geared one..if I went 70-72mph on a flat surface and hit reset I could easily see over 21mpg on my 2 hour short trip using Cruise Control... on the 3.73 on the same test the best I have seen is just under 20mpg. Now temps are a little cooler and I know its not exact..or scientific..but the lower geared truck does get better fuel economy..and will tow the same 10k boat just fine.

Jeff what mpg do u get hauling the 10k load

Man I love those superduty mirrors. I wish mine had those!

And I hate the scorpions as much as everyone else does. I went dove hunting a couple weeks ago with the truck. A buddy got stuck the night before so after our hunt, I went to pull him out and the truck was completely worthless.. Even in 4 low with the locker turned on, the tires were caked and junk. I thought i was going to get stuck on dry, flat ground!

Some people dont like the looks, but let me tell you they are great, awesome for towing. Buddy got a FX4 without them and dealer installed the big mirrors as part of the deal, you could probably get them switched for a few hundred bucks. If you go to like F150 online and some other web sites, tons of guys wanting to trade.

For what it's worth, I had the pirelli Scorpions on my Navigator and one blew out without warning. Did lots of damage.

Which tonneau do you have on yours?

Just picked up a 2012 FX4, same color as yours, Candy Red. ;)

Extang Solid Fold. Biggest POS I have ever bought to cover a truck bed and the company sucks as bad as the product. Here is the bed after sitting outside at work on a rainy day. I have replaced every seal on both hinged sections and it still leaks like a sieve. Extang's response? We do not guarantee our covers to be 100% waterproof. :angry-smiley-038:

That sucks.

The Bak Flip seems to get good reviews. Looking at the G2 or HD version.
