Same here, talked to two close dealers were friends with, haven't had any trucks come back with serious issues, let alone whatever this glow plug issue is. I don't have a 6.7, but friends that do, people we know, ones in fam, even our dealers... no problems, beyond impressed for this engine being Fords 1st in house diesel.
And doesn't make sense, 30 trucks is nothing for a company handling all replacements for this... sounds either very isolated or specific to an area?
1 of the Ford engineers said the 6.7 has one of the lowest claims for diesels, their warranty claims have come out to something like 1 per 1K units which is excellent for any engine in general, let alone a brand new in house designed one.
But then your stuck with a good engine and trans, in a pos truck whose ride will knock your fillings out, rust like a mofo, and feels like its going to fall apart hitting a pebble

Here's some more "diarrhea";
I bet that old Dodge is still running somewhere and probly still has the stock motor and tranny, maybe with a few minor parts replacements.
Assuming you're in the market to buy, if I were you I would look for a 3rd gen 2006-2007 6 speed manual 5.9 instead of paying top dollar for a new one. Don't worry about the fit and finish it's the engine/transmission you want, and there is no more reliable engine/trans in a light duty diesel than a 305/625 Cummins and the Getrag 6 speed. I know, I had one.
It's amazing how much stress falls off your shoulders when you have a reliable truck that's not in the shop every other week...

Heartbeat of America, Made in Mexico
I just bought my first Ford after over 25 years of GM products only. I bought a brand new F150 Lariat Crew after stopping by the local GMC/Chevy store (single lot) and not being able to find a single 1500 truck in ANY trim level or brand that was not made in Silag, Mexico. I looked at 40+ trucks from stripper white bench seat longbeds to 4WD SLT Crew Cabs and every one was Mexican made.
I currently own 3 GMC's (04 + 05 Sierra and a 09 Yukon SLT) all of which were made in America. My trouble free 03 2500 Duramax Crew w/173K miles got traded and it was made in Flint.
F150 was made in Dearborn and simply crushes the GM products. F150 has tri-coat pearl white paint, black leather buckets with heated and a/c seats, 20 inch wheels, power rear slider.....truck had an MSRP of 40,525 so it was loaded and is still missing 4WD/Sunroof/Navigation and I wanted/needed none of those. Truck is 3 weeks old and I have 2600 miles on it and love it.
I never even bothered a salesman at the GM lot, I wasn't going to buy a Mexican made truck. BTW all Dodge diesel trucks and all Toyota Tacomas are made in Mexico. Honda CRV, all VW Jettas and Beetles are Mexican as well.
Mexico is known for sh!tty beer, 3rd rate resort destinations and not one product is known for quality anything!

You're talking about the 1st and 2nd gen trucks not the 2003+ 3rd gens.

I can not speak for the current generation. I got a close up look at a fully loaded 3500 dual with leather, nav, sunroof. I have to say it "looked" great, but I did not get to drive it. I'll check back with him at 30k miles

We have a very good relationship with 4 dealers in our area. I inquired about this and none of the Service Mgrs. have had any such incidents. On the contrary, just little things and of course the typical isolated reflash. They have units in the field with over 100K and are reporting very good service with the 6.7.
I am not saying it is not possible, just have not heard of it around here, and there are a BUNCH of them here. Oil field and such.

, our experience is with 2003+ . Cheap pos trucks, way more harsh and uncomfortable then comparable Fords/GM's of those years, and complete rattle traps that make it sound like they'll fall apart. Like someone said, 50k on these trucks and Fords with 150K were way more solid and had fraction of the rattles.Buddy's fam owned a Dodge dealer, sold it now, and he even thought the trucks were pos except for the engine and manual trans, but he was stuck driving them as they bleed Mopar lol. In the recent years had one 6.7 Cummins lemon lawed, and traded another 6.7 Mega that he's had numerous issues with on an 11'. Least they have a nice interior now and ride better then before.
. He does a ton of driving and towing.I disagree, have a few friends with 2005s and newer, not impressed. Cheap feeling, suspension and driveline parts from the 70's. The worst automatic in the industry (Sorry I am not going to get a stick when there are autos that work) Crappy ride, terrible handling over bumps. At 30k miles they drive like a ford/ chevy would at 150k miles. Sorry.....those are the facts.

I had to join this forum and add to this post! I haven't seen much on the 6.7 either, but I can tell my own experience. I have a hotshot trucking company and own mostly dodge and chevy 3500 trucks, plus some semis. I purchased a 2011 F450 with the 6.7 around February 2011 brand new. It is now been a little over a year and the engine is currently being replaced for the second time. Also 5 turbos have been replaced. We have also had a lot of problems with the special emissions area of the truck. This engine is a lemon piece of crap and nothing short of that. I would not buy a ford again to save my life. And from here on out it will be dodge and chevy for life.
First the turbo went out twice and was replaced under warranty. Then the engine caught fire at 90k miles. Ford payed $17,000 to fix that mistake. Now at 180k miles the engine just went out last week. Ford is replacing it again after an investigation once again that determined we did not cause the problem and it was in fact the engines fault. This truck warranty runs out in 20k and we will sit the truck down at that point as it is not worth a truck with a load getting stuck on the side of the road with a blown up engine. I have repeatedly called lemon law and demanded the buy the truck back for what was owed. The refuse. 5 freaking turbos and 2 engine replacements for a 1 1/2 ton to do the job that several 1 tons are doing just fine. If anyone reads this do not buy a Ford with 6.7 and to be safe I wouldn't buy a ford at all!!! FYI My trucks do a lot of work but we usually get 200k before we start seeing problems out of them. The Ford started at around 15k miles. That is beyond SADDD!

That would be a mistake as I am doing my part toward humanity to spread the word about new ford trucks and the sorry engine in them! My 2011 F450 is the worst truck we ever bought and I own a trucking company so I've had all varieties of trucks dating back to my first one which was a 1998 model, except that I've always had dodge and chevy. This was my 1st Ford and my first 1 1/2 ton, because we have all 1 tons. 180k, 2 replacement engines and 5 turbos. This is no lie! The only thing is most people have not been able to figure this out because they don't put 100k per year on a truck like we do. We service our trucks twice a month at dealerships, sometimes more depending on the miles but everything is well kept up (the only reason ford warranty paid for 2 replacement engines as I had to provide paperwork for every oil change etc). We are shutting the ford down in 20k when warranty is up and I will be big time in the hole with this truck. I'm just an honest small business owner who chose to deal with a bad product and I regretfully take my punishment for choosing such!
