I have ran 3 sets of Cooper ATR's and get good miles out of them. (274,000 now on the truck) The ride is great and all, but I think they really hurt my gas mileage. When I had my original Firestone's my mileage was much better (80,000 miles on them). I almost instantly noticed the change when going to the Coopers. Gas was cheaper back then and didn't really care cause the ride was superior. Question is....can a tire actually knock 2mpg off of the fuel economy?

Same size tires? I wouldn't think the rolling resistance would make that much difrerence between two brands of tires given they were the same size and basically the same type in terms of tread pattern.

I too am a big fan of Cooper Discover tires. I ran them on my 2500 Avalanche back in the day. I now run Cooper Zeons on my lowrider.

How do you like the Zeons? I'm thinking of going to them on my F-150. The stock 20" Pirelli's suck.

Quite happy. I was down to Coopers Zeons or Yokohama Parada Spec-X via my research, but I don't have driving experience on the Paradas.

The Cooper Zeons track great, no issues with wet traction, and I am fine with the ride. It is a lowrider, but I feel the tires are great.

I don't like the sound of that......my new F150 has 7500 miles on it now with the 20's (Pirelli Scorpions).

I did chat with a guy at a gas station the other day who told me the same thing and he went with LTX 2's for replacements.

Yokahama's are the only thing I run on my trucks. Great tire, quiet, and they do wonders in the snow. I get around 35-40,000 miles out of them. I will admit I rotate them often.

depends on your area if your down south I wouldnt worry about getting AT, and even if i lived up north I would get the super knobby tires as it will kill MPG.

Mastercrafts are good tires as well.

if you went to a taller tire you would rack up less miles per tank of fuel so yes it would show less mpg.. with that being said you show 274,000 miles which would e more like 300k
