I agree with sidewayz. Scale it!

I thought my little eliminator and F250 was light. 16K total weight at the scale. I could not believe it.

I agree scale it. When I went to plate my myco here in FL they needed a trailer weight.

I had myco provide it (steel dual axel) and for my little boat it is 1800lbs!

That shocked me, dry advertised on boat is 7200, gas, water, oil, etc adds up fast. And that is for a little light weight 27-28 foot fountain.

I think that sums it up right there.

I guess what gets me most, is people go out and buy the biggest baddest fastest boat they can get their hands on,,,,,, then come on here and ask,,,,, hey think I can pull it with XXX ? ( Not meaning the OP in this case,,,, getting way off topic )

A truck is just a big a part of the package as an upgraded engine, or outdrive,,,,,, skimp on it and you can get bit !!!

Was that scaled??? Doc Holiday weighed his 36 O/L to be at 12,600 on the trailer.

I never took it to a weigh station and had it weighed. My weight was a calculation of the Mfgr posted weights and adding X for weight of fuel. My estimate does not include the truck, just the boat and trailer. By what has been posted since my post, I could be off? I am guessing it could also depend on how much "junk" people put in their boat ie: coolers, personals, heads, water, etc... That too can play into it...

I do now realize (by looking above) it was supposed to be low fuel, not full fuel. The boat held 300 Gallons, that alone would be what? 2400 lbs? I rarely ever pulled it anywhere with fuel, we would travel, once there, fuelled up, then splashed. Rarely did we ever go home with any fuel left in it...

This is why you buy a Chevy and not a Ford.

I'm towing our rig with a swr. I did weigh the trailer alone and then the boat and trailer together. The total was 17300. Dry weight of the boat was listed at 10500 and the empty trailer was 3740. We towed from Michigan to do the Tickfaw and had zero issues covering 2200 miles.
