Love mine so far Dan. I did a few mods over the Winter with an Edge kit, LBZ Turbo Inlet and Cold Air Kit.

I f you are looking for used Duramax you want an 06 LLY or 07 LBZ they are considered the best of the bunch in factory tune and easily the best with a simple program tune up. 05's and back have injector and cooling issues. 08's and up require various deletes which can be a serious problem depending on your county

LLY, LBZ, LML, LMM there's more to I think are all the different generations of the duramax.

Relate it to gen iv, gen v, gen 6 in BB world

Don't forget the first...LB7! I had an '04.5 LLY and it never gave me a bit of trouble. I really want an '06 LBZ but so does everyone else and their dog.

The LB7 came out in 01' if I recall correctly and was used until mid year 2004. LB7's were known for their injector issues.
The LLY came out in late 2004 and had cooling issues due to a drastically reduced turbo inlet....I laughed when I replaced mine with the LBZ version. The LLY had a little more power than the LB7.
The LBZ came out in 2006 I believe....they do not have the cooling issues and have the most power of the others. As Knot 4 Me mentioned alot of people are looking for these as they do not have the exhaust regen. like the 2008's and newer which usually reduces the fuel mileage and are more costly to add a tuner etc.
