Agreed. I was throwing that out there as a base idea. Any 2000"s GM HD trucks seem to command a premium right now as does 7.3 Fords and manual trans Dodge Cummins.

What model did 32K get you ? Answer BASE model $32,891.00 now add 10K for a well optioned truck. I always forget that unless the dealers are selling it options don't have any value. This truck was over 40K out the door 13 years ago.

Saw the LS door pillar trim with steel wheels...........Not exactly LTZ/Denali trim.

I bought a brand new leftover duramax 2500 crew cab in 2003 for 32K, truck had the Bose radio, bucket seats (SLE trim). Sticker was 43-44 and the duramax rebate + regular rebate was 8K alone......Price was so good I drove 3 hours to get the truck. I would be stunned if you paid 40K out the door for a gas dually w/ LS trim.

Looking at my original window sticker for my 2002 2500hd Chevy. 4x4 duramax ext cab sb LT (prior to LTZ). Fully loaded 41723 with 720$ destination included. Engine was 4810 and Allison trans was 1200. Still a great old truck for me.

I am on my second 2500 suburban with the 8.1 and love them. Don't get me wrong, I would love to have the duramax but for a gas motor it doesn't get any better than the 8.1. I have been thinking of trading my suburban in for a new truck just haven't done it yet. This one is paid for and I bought it with 15,000 miles on it.

All this talk of 8.1's being worth gold on used market really has me thinking now.......

Out of curiosity what do you guys think an '06 2500 suburban with the 8.1 is worth? It is fully loaded. Quad captain chairs(leather), navigation, 3 zone climate control, DVD, heated seats, everything is on it. It has 111,000 miles on it right now and runs great. Color is black, interior and exterior are in great shape.

Do a search on eBay for sold 8.1L Suburbans. There are a couple for sale there now as well.

FWIW, the 2500 Suburban 8.1L are not as special to the market as the 2500HD and 3500 platform trucks, as the Suburban (Yukon XL 2500 and Avalanche 2500) do not have the Allison transmission which is 50% of what makes the trucks such a great towing platform.

Hey Bro, once you go with a Dirty Max you'll never consider gas again. You can get a used one and skip the additive. I have an 08 Dmax with EFI Live, 4" Turbo back, DPF Delete and 8" lift w 35's and I average 12.5 mpg (calculated) pulling around 11-12k. Ive seen 22-24mpg empty on highway rolln 70-75mph. I've had my truck for 5 years and it's been solid. Duramax + Allison = greatness!!

Thats a tough call. It's a specialized vehicle and with gas at 3.50 a gallon not many want to buy a suv that gets 12 mpg. But it tows 12,000 lbs. My guess is it would bring 10k.

Nice truck, I have a 2011 Duramax, also had a 06 before. Great trucks! Tow great as well. You'll love the way the new frame handles.
