I guess it is personal preference but I have towed and driven both short and long bed trucks and I like the long bed better, cause it seems to handle the road better when pulling my boat but also without the boat it has a much better ride on long trips. By the way I am very fortunate because I have a Kodiak 4500 just for towing my boat and a 2015 SILVERADO half ton for everyday driving.

I have a Crew cab short bed F250 7.3. I would for sure go long bed. As far as turning radius, the leaf spring superdutys have the largest turning radius of any truck. The 05+ trucks are much easier to park, but have lousy diesel engines unless you go 6.7.

I am leaning towards the long bed, I have always had long bed trucks. Never thought about them being more stable though..makes sense. I do know how to use my mirrors, I grew up in a boater family and been pulling boats since I started driving, but with the topper on now, I have to use them more for backing up, I never really had to use them before because I could just turn around. When putting the boat on the trailer, I will jump into the bed from the front of the boat and winch her up the rest of the way with the wife in the truck, I cant do that with a topper on now. I never let my truck sit on the ramp without someone in the drivers seat....seen too many go in! As for 6.0 psd....I agree not soo good but not ready to get into a 6.7 for price wise. Worse case...after all mods and head studs the 6.0 are bullet proof, not interested in turning it up either.. Wont be ready to buy for maybe a year but when I'm ready, I may be able to get into a early 6.7?? Just started a new business and its doing very well....just dont like using my service truck for both work and towing...its full of parts, tools, inventory, laptop....etc. Thanks for all the response and input from you all! Thank you!

The 6.0 is far from bulletproof ever! I just got rid of one with studs and delete that pushed gaskets for the second time by 90k miles.

Just stepped up from a 06 Dmax swb 4 door to a 08 Dmax lwb 4 door (lifted w/ 35's on 20's). Ride and pulling (Formula 357) the LWB is way better. And the turning radius of the 08 is actually the same or a little better. It gets a little tricky trying to park downtown, but that's about it.

Towed with long/short bed many miles.Long bed is always going to be more stable due to length/weight.
The most impressive difference I have ever seen, is towing a triple axle trailer vs. single or double.
A triple axle tows like it is on rails.
