No the back up solenoid is a extra add on , the break away system consists of the trigger switch and the battery to keep the pump running till the trailer stops moving

just make sure the batteries for the break away unit are charged and pull the emergency pin and the motor will kick on then bleed brakes, furthest wheel first.

my controller is trash, I can stop the fluid flow by putting my finger over the line, you cant do that if its putting out 1600 psi...........so I ordered this one, sealed unit unlike my current one.

Just curious, what brand is your current actuator?

Titan brakerite, its not a sealed unit and has an exposed printed circuit board under the cover.

One reason why I went with Hydrastar. Main reason to go with Hydrastar for me was the plug and play aspect. When I am able to get my coupler welded and my little wiring box built (to hide everything but the actuator) in the next few weeks, it will be nice to just plug everything in and go. No hard wiring and no worries about butt connectors and heat shrink tubing.

does the break away switch ( switch ground ) or battery ? plugged in the circuit is open, then pull it and closes and completes the circuit.
