Had to scroll back up to see when I ordered. 1-11-22. I changed the paint color the next day. When I ordered they talked me into doing the spray in bed liner local to speed things up. I ordered it with the 5th wheel prep package also. I was told in late February the 5th wheel prep might hold it up. I said to keep it, it's a dually kinda want it. I started reading other forums and it seems like they had problems with the ones they were making (5th wheel prep kit)and so had to re make them and that put them behind on them. They are optional on 250-350's but standard on 450's. Many people are canceling and just installing locally as with the bed liner. Apparently the 5th wheel rails do not get installed on the assembly line when being built but get sent to another location to install anyways. I got a call from my dealer today saying that Ford will not build my truck with the 5th wheel prep. I asked how long if I remove it and they said they have around 50 ordered. Ford just scheduled about 20 of theirs and mine is on the next batch but the 5th wheel prep would stop it. She said with it removed it should be scheduled in about a month. So still waiting for a build date for mine and will not begetting exactly what I wanted.I did ask if I would see it before December and she laughed and said yes, they are currently building all the super duty's. We shall see!

That's pretty effing terrible. You are buying the truck to TOW, and they can't EQUIP it to do so. You have to go aftermarket to get it done...
...and then let's say you have a frame crack or corrosion issue 2 years from now that the Ford dealer can blame on the aftermarket hitch setup: YOU are going to be the one SOL.
Seriously, who would want an F450 "personal edition" (as in not the Cab & Chassis model) WITHOUT the heavy towing equipment installed?
I could understand if it was computer chip/silicone related. But just CAD up some fricking metal, and get it fixed.
They've got all these HD trucks now that people are liking, (F350 wide axle, F450, F550, F600) and they can't deliver them for their main purpose. I'd be so pissed.
crb76 's fully loaded Platinum CC CB 4x4 F350 is supposed to be delivered this week in Houston.

Good luck on the 7.3 gasser. I ordered mine 9-4-21.
No build date, nothing.

Randomly saw this on youtube and the title made me click it. Sums up the bed liner and 5th wheel prep issues. I ordered a 7.3l gasser. It doesn't seem to be the hold up.

Dealer contacted me the other day and said my truck has "best priority number" whatever that means. He said he expects to have a build date soon.
He said "usually 2 months after the scheduled build date it arrives. There are exceptions and delays on top of that in some cases"
Simply stupid.
