You can tell the the tale of the soggy banana, it likely will be better recieved comming from you rather than me. I can jump in with any details you are missing. |

LOL I ran with this at 80 plus from Still Pond to Turkey Point until it broke down. I'm with Brian too. If anyone was around for the Fells Point Festival this year in the pouring down rain. I left Middle River by Brian's and came out behind Hart/Miller Island only to find 6 footers. Make to the BMC for a awesome time Oh, and two Fountains had to turn back, One had a wave come over the bow and took off the fairing and the other swamped a motor. So I don't want to hear Chit about Velocity's. :evilb: :evilb:

Re: Honest Opinions Needed
Hyper are you a spoke person for Velocity ? If you were I would never bye that boat. I own a 28 Velocity and I love it, but let's be honest no one is perfect. This board is for talking about boats good or bad.

Re: Honest Opinions Needed
Hey FFO,what is that statement supposed to mean.No I am not a spoke person for Velocity I am just a repeat owner of the product and happen to have a great passion for the product, and I am not a person to sugar coat anything,I call a spade a spade and what boat would you not buy.Are you a spoke person or a friend of Thorough.
|
Re: Honest Opinions Needed
No I don't no the guy .. All I was saying is that if you were a spoke person . I would not buy a Velocity.

Paul I agree with the mesh look vinyl materials. I haven't had any experience with cleaning it or how well it holds up or even how much more expensive it is, but it sure looks nice. |
Re: Honest Opinions Needed
Wow!, and I thought the Apache threads were nasty.....

Re: Honest Opinions Needed
Hey FFO,what kind of boat do you own,I own a Velocity and love it,yes I have some issues and Steve Stepp knows what they are you can bet your as8 ON THAT,so tell us what kind of boat do you own,a BAYLINER or a turbine powered 200 MPH MTI.Also if you are a friend of Thorough, sorry about your luck.
PS If I was a spokes person I would not bash here I would have already fixed the problems and moved on to the next task at hand. :mad:Also I see you own a 280 Velocity maybe you need to also check to see if they used that 18.00 dollar tube of caulk. And if you want to Question me as to my knowledge.Bring it on. |
Re: Honest Opinions Needed
Hyper First off like I said I am not a friend of Thorough . Second I don't recall me saying anything about your knowledge and I don't care. Last if you no so much why didn't you apply for the G.M Job at Velocity ...
|
Re: Honest Opinions Needed
Why would I want those headachs,I have enough of my own as I am sure it comes with many problems and not enough pay to compensate.I am self employed and know there are lots of headachs to deal with besides I thought you were going to get the job as GM,Spokesman and President.

We did finally make it that day by automobile.. --Shawn |
Re: Honest Opinions Needed
Thanks shawn. You and Gizzi are awesome. Although I think they were more like 8 footers later in the day when you guys came through.

Re: Honest Opinions Needed
Alright back on track.
On the newer models, Velocity is using Auto loc engine hatch actuators. They are way to slow and to light weight for the task at hand. After a couple of problems with mine, I replaced it with a Hardin Marine actuator. It is much faster. Super heavy duty , polished, and has a foot more travel (24") . I would recomend using the Hardin Marine actuator as standard equipment. Steve |
Re: Honest Opinions Needed
I agree with Revd Up,the Hardins are a much nicer and much faster than what is currently being used and the extra height would be nice also.Good call on that idea.

Re: Honest Opinions Needed
I like the" frenched" in or recessed type of bow running lights. Similar to the Nordic's and a few others. It would clean up the nose a little without the ball type mounted on the deck. With the cleat mounted behind the light the ball type can be broken easily by the rope swinging and snapping off the light. The recessed lights have a much cleaner look. I think I might be putting those in mine in the future.

Re: Honest Opinions Needed
I have a suggestion and maybe the new GM of Velocity can awnser this, when you call the factory and talk to Clay about buying a new boat/A 390/on two differant occastions and you do not get a return phone call what should a person do.Buy a differant brand or keep making phone calls, maybe Velocity is selling to many boats, just curious,it has been two months almost and no pricing and no return calls,

Sell direct to the consumer  Now that's a sure fired way to keep your dealers loyalty and your product in their showrooms. Maybe you need to get a Florida P.O. box, that's been known to work before. BTW how is the current project comming along Bill? |

Re: Honest Opinions Needed
Hey Ragged and Rippem,I have tryied to go the dealer route with almost the same results or got fed up with talking to a clueless person on the other end of the phone,so I figured I would call direct and if I do something I do believe I would use a dealer so they would not got mad, besides Hutchinsons is not a dealer or I would call Pete or Mark.I will see what happens and then go from there,I still have to do my project on my 320 but my daughter has been very ill and that is more important on getting her healthy.Peter I will keep you posted on the progress I hope to start it next week.

Sorry to hear about your daughter Bill, hope all turns out ok. I believe we still have access to the line, he's just not stocking any. Whether he would take your 320 in trade would have to be his call. If you are serious I would talk to him for you, just let me know. |
