Thanks Petrick, I can't afford props, Heee! We are going to try B1's first. Any suggestions? I have a new set of 34's might be to much but the prop calculater with 12 % slip @ 6000 rpm's shows 112 MPH.

The B1 is always a great prop to start with. They work well on all kinds of boats and can be alter easily for even better performance by BBlades and others.
I also like the Hydro P5X which I'm told is a 5 blade version of the B1. The P5X is a prop that should be left in its stock form.
My experiences are mostly on single engine boats that only top out in the 80mph range though.
Good Luck with your adventure!
It has been great to watch her come together...:ernaehrung004:

TexomaPowerboater 03-16-2009 04:27 PM

Matt's right - we can have the bugs worked out by the time you get back:evilb:

Andy 03-16-2009 07:16 PM

You need to buy sets of B1's from 29's to 34's that way I will have lots to choose from at a huge discounted price, only fair cause they are used once you open the boxes and got them wet.

Andy 03-16-2009 07:27 PM

Your talking around 190 hrs to rig the boat. Nice work on there part but start feeding them some "blow" to get them moving a little quicker, it will be alot cheaper.

TxHawk 03-16-2009 10:12 PM

It took me nearly 160hrs to rig mine. The difference is that I had already done it once, okay fine... twice. Everything had already been made, hoses, brackets, fittings located, hardware planned, and I didnt have to test fit, then paint/powdercoat and reinstall.

Needless to say, im tired of working on it and ready to use it.

I feel your pain. Derebery's crew has done a great job, I told them when we started I wanted it nice and they have stepped up to the plate. Grandpaw always told me, " Son it cost alot to go fast, just how fast do you want to go?" I just wonder how many times they crawled in and out of this thing. I'm guessing a bunch. When we fired the engine, the coffee in my coffee cup made some really nice cam ripples.

Now that's a thought.:angry-smiley-038: I wonder what the cost would be to go to Velocity with my hardware and put it in a new boat would be?

I broke down and bought us a brand new triple axel aluminum 15K LB. Myco trailer to haul the hardware on. My other trailer is nice but has no brakes so I thought this would be a little more insurance for me. My old trailer is a 2007 34' 10K triple axel aluminum if someone needs something to haul their boat close to the water. My trailer is sold.

Matt, I take that as a compliment coming from you my friend.:drink: Like Grandpaw always said, "Son, It only cost a little more to go first class, you just can't stay as long". I told Leon today I'm broke, he is going to raise an eyebrow when this shows up in his yard. Heee!

Velocity Vector 03-17-2009 11:11 PM

Matt, you want to go testing? If so you are welcome to go.

When will that be? It looks like its ready. I will have to go check it out Friday. Someday, I will have to tell you the story about last time i TRIED to run it. Texoma was doing its thing, and it was big time rough.

Velocity Vector 03-18-2009 10:27 PM

Well Matt we still are waiting on fuel pressure gauges / some parts that hold the tie bars on. / the exhaust rings that cover the holes in the transum / pirate com intercom system / vhf radio / bimini top / I think the extention boxes and the 28" k-planes will help settle it down. Let me know when you get to check it out and anything you see that should be done tell someone there.
