Those 32's are not enough, so just put them back in the box and ship them up here. My check is good. |

Wish us luck! Hopefully we will get a calm day Fri or Sat. Good Luck! Kill switch tether and some good vests would be in order. You need to be around for #18. ;) The one thing I will tell you, from personal experience with that hull, is that more power does help. It allows you to run without the off the chart trim and it does work better. Before you launch mark the neutral position of the drives and tabs on the indicators just so you know. I always ran with just a little positive on the tabs at speed, set them in the 70 - 80 range and don't be fussin' with them at real high speeds. I found that would at times unsettle the boat. Then trim it till it feels like it is set on it's tail. You are kinda creating a tri-pod out of the pad and the tabs for it to run on. Worked well with mine, though my tabs were set parallel to the water rather than the angle of the hull. It's a learning process for sure, take your time. Be safe and have some fun, you've waited a long time for this day. :ernaehrung004: |

Patience of Jobe. No test yet, One of my drive indicators was stuck / sticking and have to change the cable. I didn't want to take it out without them working properly. I also decided to cut off that damn swim platform and add a aluminum one higher up than the original. Platform is to low with the extension boxes and my upper tie bar hits it to early, like on 7 on the indicators.
I did get to go out and play in Texoma thanks to Matt AKA TXHawk in his Excalibur Hawk 40 with twin 700's. Very nice ride with lots of power and rode very smooth in the windy conditions we had today. Thanks Matt for a nice day out, I owe you one. |
Man, what a sweet set up! im on pins and needles to hear how she runs. Make sure someone gets some video!
|
Thanks, we are all excited as well. I will have video made, Just hope you don't see it on fox news. Heee!

VV, Here's a thought for you, I just looked at your pic of the tie bar set up, and what if you were to place the upper tie bar at the bottom of the bracket vs the top. Should be able to use the same pin, just going down instead of up. Why not just pull it and see if that gains you travel? Or change to a diff set up, something like the Imco deal where the tie bar mount is a part of the rear cap. That set up you have is pretty bulky, there are more trim / compact set ups out there. If you could gain a pin or two you should be fine, mine would run around 9 - 10ish if I remember right. With boxes you should have more leverage on the boat and might not even need much, if any more. Suggestion ...... Try moving the bar location. Look to see if you could also notch out the underside of the platform for some extra clearance. Run the boat to see if you even need it first. Cutting that platform off is going to be a major deal, not to mention the cost. Or just take the upper one right off, you don't really need two in the first place. Could also test run with it off if you do find you need more before you do anything. At least run the biotch first just as it sits, then go from there. Put that saws-all back in the case for a while! Run it! |
Thanks RaggedEdge, I'll look into it further, Oh we will run the Biotch before we cut anything. I just need the indicators to work first. The main reason I don't like the platform is I can see anything back there vs a aluminum one. Like to see water coming out the drains in the tails.
One thing I will not miss with the new set-up is that damn beeping noise right before the engine shuts down when you just get on plane. Attention, you are now in Gardian mode, you have 850 hp but since you are now in the Gardian mode you will only be able to idel around. Thank you for your understanding please have your Mercury Marine mechanic research the problem, reset your computer and tell you nothing is wrong must have been a fluke, here is your bill. VV |

Here's the set up on the Fountain, the last one had a back cap mount as did the Velocity.

Looks like the same set-up I have reversed. My steering rams are on the inside, I think we tried it like that but the tie bar hit the steering ram and would not allow it to line up in the holes.
Shorter tie bar, set below in the inside position should work. The longer tie bar you have would probably bind up somewhere. Still don't think you will need to rag the trim off the chart with the boxes. You need to save that platform for the wifey and the young Miss Vector. |

We splashed today,
900 rpm from idle to 3000 rpm she poped up on plane and felt like a bird dog on point in just a matter of seconds best it has ever got on plane. Felt kinda like we were being pushed by a truck. Leon gave it a little more stick. Then the starboard motor died and Daniel yelled cut the key fuel was pumping into the engine The fuel regulator wasn't working correctly and flooded the engine and we were done. With any project you have to work out the bugs maybe the next outing will be better. It was well worth the trip to hear the sound of both engines running at the same time and seeing the people checking her out. I was surprised how fast it came on plane. We had the 4 blade 34's on it but no numbers just plenty decible's. Well I'm off the work again for another 20-25 days so untill next time be safe out there my friends. You need to put one of those scoops on the hood and then add some flames. You'll be stylin'n then! So do I understand right, it will be about three weeks before it gets wet again? ............................. The boat you perv! |

The Myco I got such a "good deal on" fit like the scoops on the truck , it didn't fit anywhere so we are going to have to cut all the post off and reposition the bunks to fit my hull. Dude, that sucks about the trailer. Never ends does it?

And here I always thought if you were just too stubborn to give up it would somehow work out. Your version does sound better! I wish you a wonderful day as your obstacles magically vanish before you! :D |

Got the fuel regulator fixed, put on the new drive actuators on so now we can throw the useless spring actuators away. (see Photo) the pic is on a nxt drive, couldn't find a photo on the bravo's but same basic design. All we lack is the flush system to hook the hose to, to run the engines, the pre-oiling system and the trailer.:ernaehrung004:
Ordered water pressure relief valves, thru hull fittings, new screens for the flame arrestors 5", and a crank for the myco. Anything else? |

Well we fixed the problem of the drives tie bar hitting the swim platform. We left the tie bars as they are and installed drive cylinder stops inside the drive cylinders. I was fixing to cut the damn swim platform off and not one of you mentioned the cylinder stops. Anyway they are 7 bucks a piece and stop the drives before ripping the platform off. Have I got to do everything?:drink:
|
I need the same thing. I have a nice new scratch from the beach the other day.

Sorry VV, I thought you would have exhausted all options!! A freind of mine put them in his boat to keep the drive shower from eating his platform up!!

Well now that's a far less complex fix than we would expect you to take, so don't blame us! I actually thought you were worried they were going to hit when you were running the boat not when beaching it. Glad you found at least one cheap project! Notice: VV has more parts for sale @ 50% off !!! |

And on Tax Day no less, I spent most of the day depressed and feeling poor after the AM check writing session. You have a good day, and remember today any money you make you actually get to keep. If you work hard you can be a multi-millionaire just like the Prez. |
