Naa!! The speedo pic is too generic.........good numbers, but........

If you want a good "frontal" shot, bring it down to the bay and let one of us Velocity guys take a pic from the back of one of our boats.......1Hyper1 would be glad to be the camera boat. I have a good zoom lense, and if that won't work, I'll get him to pull back on the sticks a little........:evilb::evilb::ernaehrung004:

I would like your avator to have a shot of me and 1Hyper1 in it, Remember this shot? We were in North Shoars Hawaii on the "wild water" and I jumped off the swim platform on my surf board as 1Hyper1 was on his slamon skiing with one hand and drinking scotch out of the bottel with the other. I'll never forget that day!

VV you rock!!

Holy FUKC!!!!!! your done and in the water. Time to pull up my Canadian wooley socks and get back to the boat. I have been slacking latley, bought a Hayabusa to scare the pis$ out of me and ride it lots. Went to the track last week and ripped off a 9.6 @142mph with some to spare, not bad for a 50yr old chopper rider. Back to the boat. One engine is in, interior done accept for the glove box thing in front of the passanger. I have no idea what to put there. Should have the other engine together and in, in 2 weeks or so. My splash date will be in the first part of June. I don't know why its taking me so long, I think a got a little burnt out on this project? All my drives are rebuilt, I have TRS's and bought 2 leftys and two rights so I won't have any down time after I blow one. Im gonna take some pix and post them and keep you lads upto date. Andy

Oh no! Not pen!s weights.:grinser010: Check out my new improved buddy....

Boat is hanging from the overhead crane getting the trailer bunks re-positioned. Can't wait to get this bill. The guy's can't get anything done for the walk in's checking out the boat. I have been known to spend a dollar saving a dime or two.

No way!!! We would never have suspected that was the case. :party-smiley-004:

Not even going to touch the pen!s weight deal, there are things in life you just don't need to know.

Velocity Vector 05-07-2009 07:34 PM

I know you guy's are all wondering with sleepless nights. "Why hasn't VV posted any pictures of the Myco re-build"?

Last time we pulled it out of the water we sat the back of the boat off the back of the trailer bought 6 " so we could get a strap around the boat during the lift with the over head crane. Seemed like a smart thing to do right? Hel yea I'm an engineer right.

No not really smart at all! I had to drive like 40 all the way home a 1.5 hr. drive took 3.5 hrs.

Up date: so far we positioned the boat forward to get between 700 - 900 pounds of tongue weight. We started with 0 tongue weight.

With no tongue weight. She was bucking like a mule in heat with a ginny sack ducked taped to her ass.

Seemed like the average was 200 pound increase every 8 inched she moved foward on the trailer. We ended up with the bow tip about 2 feet behind the hitch ball. We got to 850 pounds of tongue weight now. I figured 9K boat trailer full of fuel so we have 9.5 % of the gvw on the tongue now. Man that perfect congrats....

OK now lets take a gander at the rear of the trailer and see where we are, Holy Mondo moowee, how long is the trailer?

If I tuck the drive in I almost have enough room for a drive guard. I just don't know how effective a drive guard is and the hassel of folding it back and fourth do you? Launching with it in place, you know the tick, back up and tap the brakes to slide the boat off forgetting about the drive guard being there.

I have never hit a drive on a trailer nor have I had anyone hit me. So I'm thinking wack the excess off and be done with it.

I changed the boards on the bunks to 2x6 treated, Routerd the edges round and sanded them a little to keep the carpet from wearing so bad and new high grade marine carpet, The ones on it were just pine and the carpet was not very good grade and looked weathered.

We positioned the boat about 3-4 inches above the fenders and started cutting off the old bunk post. I was going to grind the welds off and re-use the post at first but then figured labor vs new aluminum it was more cost effected to just cut them off smooth with the top of the beam and go back with new.

The old post were 6061 T6 1" x 2" x 1/4" channel, All I could find was 6061 T6 1 1/2" x 3" x 1/4" channel so that is what I used along with 3" x 1/4" flat plate for the top of the post to screw the bunks to.

Tomorrow maybe we will have it bunked up and start wacking a little a$$ off the trailer.

I know you picture guys don't like to read all that much but it is good practice incase you get served with a warrant.

Velocity Vector 05-08-2009 12:51 PM

Ok Ok here are some pic. We still have to lower the winch.

Here's a couple pics that might help when you trim the tail of your trailer. Performance did this same treatment on my 32 Velocity trailer. Concept is like a mini guard deal, allows the drives to tuck into the trailer frame. If you want some better pics let me know.

jryan26 05-08-2009 08:41 PM

VV
I would make it a drive guard just so the next guy had the option of a bigger boat. Might help when selling the trailer.

How bout like this. This shouldn't pose any problems. Should it? This way I don't have to extend the trailer to make a drive guard, "I don't have anough room now for a guard as it is", or cut any of trailer off. Just wack the channel between. Plus it will make a good step.

I see your drive extentions does it help your handle better and how much better.

We have only done 1 test run since the 12" Imco boxes and engine's These are in the nutral position with 1" shorties, So the props are not much higher if any than without. The boys at Velocity don't think it is going to increase the speed but settel the boat down making it think it is a real 32' boat. I will know more after futher testing and post the results.

Good point, " I'm always good about helping out the next guy when I sell something". Would you guys widen it or leave the same width. I'm guessing a foot from the props at the guard?

Ray AKA "nada1" being the super person he is, refused to except the $100.00 winnings in the "Cost of Labor" contest. So I spent the money else where in Ray's thoughts as well as my own.

My Neise @ 14 years had a little bad luck last year and came down with leukemia. We caught it very early and with the help of St. Judes Childrens Research Hospital she has made a full recovery. So I matched Ray's winnings with a donation of $200.00. Thanks Ray. VV

RaggedEdge 05-10-2009 06:21 PM

Nice VV, you're an alright guy.

RaggedEdge 05-10-2009 06:22 PM

Far as the trailer I would just be sure you have enough support back there. The drive guard is not a bad idea.

Velocity Vector 05-10-2009 08:03 PM

If you ever just backed into something I think it would help save a drive but if you get hit say 30 mph you would most likely get new drives and a large settlement because if someone crashes my drives I won't be able to move my neck and my Pick won't get hard and my wife won't be able to move her neck either and yes her Gussy is slamed shut! Pay UP Sucker! NO, NO! those were #6 drives you just crushed them and the look smaller.

Bought two Highway products underbody toolboxes 36"x18"x18" http://www.800toolbox.com/underbody/underbody.htm and an extra wheel and tire so we will have two spares and two boxes up front. Aluminum will be in Fri to start on the drive guard. This is turning out really nice.

Does this get added into the rigging total? You could start a new one for the trailer refit total.

More progress. 6 bunks in the back, 4 middle and 2 up front. Where ever you see the smaller channel is old positioned bunks. we just wacked them off at the top of the crossmembers.
