Thank you for your post! I'll measure the X dimension and get hold of a straight edge.

I wonder if it might be worth weighing the boat minus trailer?

Any recommendations on a shop in the southeastern US that does hull work?

I like the ideas posted above. Weighing boat/ trailer would also not hurt, though I doubt that is your problem. Dual axle Ameratrail alum is roughly 1klbs per Kenny. If the hull is ok you need prop fine tuning. Stock Bravo 1 26p? Should not slip that bad on a VR. I would work with Brett @ Bblades on fine tuning your setup.

Btw.. really like the new paint job!

Are u running the Raylar cool gap intake or a ported stock intake?

darobinson23322 06-23-2016 03:30 PM

The prop is a stock 26P fresh out of the box from bblades. I've talked to Brett and I owe him th X measurement.

The intake is the ported stock manifold.

I still need to really take a close look at the bottom per the above recommendation.

Thanks on the paint! Kenny really helped me with upholstery and paint!

I'd love to get to some of the performance numbers you've reported! Do you have K-planes and do you use them?

Ryan, don't you think that even a stock prop should be running better then that? My old 280 with a 502 mag would swing a 26 hydro to the low 70s.

Don, what are the numbers that are engraved on the prop. Was it a new prop from BBlades or a used one? Have you talked to BBlades about this?

This is driving me crazy, lord knows what it is doing to you! LOL

Prop was new out of the box. Numbers engraved on the prop 48-831914 26P. On the box Part number 48-831914A55, 15 1/4, Pitch 26, 4RH, SS

It has driven me crazy! The boat should at least run 70----no way 60

Dam! You wouldn't think a new prop would be bad. If I had one I would send it to you to try, just for my own peace of mind.

If the prop shafts is too deep, could it cause the high slip numbers? I wouldn't think so but I don't know for sure.

Is there anything like a drive shower, speedometer, transom mount depth finder that could disrupt the water getting to the prop?

A VR 1 running at Baja speeds is not right.

LOL, you are right. What I did notice was the leading edge of the outdrive is not as clean as you would expect. I'll see if I can take a picture.

Trying to figure out how to attach a pic, I don't think I can post a pic. As I said the leading edge has no clean taper on the skew. Almost flat.

Don, Mine has Dana Marine HP1000 tabs. I use them to come on plane mostly. Don't really need them but it planes quicker and is easier on the drive. WOT they are up and out of the way.

Padraig, yeah he should easily be running faster. What speeds at lower rpms? With that WOT speed it would seem your slipping everywhere, not just at WOT.

Host your pics on photobucket and then you can link them here.

Ok, so yikes probably indicates an issue!
