I have not, but I'm going to the Pirates of Lanier Poker Run. I'm sure I will see quite a few. I won't be bringing my boat this year.

Took the boat out two weeks ago and as you can see from the above post was not able to get the data due to the engine running hot. I assumed it was a bad impeller and ordered the kit from Hardin marine. I pulled the Hardin stainless sea pump (what a pain) and the impeller looks fine I will replace wear plates and impeller. I'm also going to check the t-stat (120 degree) to confirm its working and flush all the water hoses. Not sure what's causing the running hot issue. When I get ready install I want to make sure the impeller is in correctly.
Can someone confirm the water intake hose from the transom goes to the top of the seawater pump? Has anyone ever replaced the water inlet on the B1? Is there a recommended manual to pull the lower unit? Thanks! |
Have you pulled and back flushed all cooling hoses and your coolers? Sounds like grass or debris built-up somewhere in the system, maybe use a hose to check each section one at a time from our drive to the point of exhaust dump.

Ok, understand and will flush this evening. I have done that before....if you see my history of posts I was chasing an over heating problem when I first purchased the boat. [email protected]
Thanks! |
Flushed all hoses at the coolers, no debris or blockage
Unfortunately I have to work and will not finish up until next weekend. |
Hey Ryan, you bringing that VR 1 up to Buffalo for the Poker Run?

Not this year. Only boated twice this month! Two family injuries and a bad work schedule. Hopefully next time. Have a great time!

Bummer! Sorry about the injuries, hope fever everyone is on the mend.

I agree with Pquest230, flush everything. Yep. Removing the seawater pump on the VR is a PIA due to not being able to access from the front. I'll let you know on the hosing Tuesday when I pull mine from my slip. The Bravo transom assembly water tube is a known problem area. It corrodes and restricts flow causing overheating as the seawater pump cannot pump the correct volume. Mine had that problem and was replaced by Kenny H before I took delivery. Shoot me your email and I will send you the Merc #28 FSM for Bravo outdrives.
