Kenny helped you out with the interior and paint- have you talked to him about the performance problems your having? I'd be pulling it south to have him take a look if your as close as GA.

I have numerous times, he said the VR1 never performed well with a stock bravo prop. Kenny said to send him a 28 and he would have his prop guy work on it. I just don't have a 28 to send him right now.

Looks like there are a couple 28s on eBay.

I would like to reference your recipe with bblades, but I'm not sure they want to do that. I will have to go out and re collect the numbers next Thursday along with the X measurement.

I would think the X dimension would be the same for both boats.

Is there a chance the gear ratio could be wrong?

I will also check the last 6' to confirm no hook or other anomalies.

Not sure what else to do besides possibly taking to Kenny for a test drive on the lake.

Hopefully you are not affected by the flooding!

Having Brett reference a known lab recipe is a great way. Their labbed 28 Bravo performs awesome on my setup. From your 5000rpms with a 26p I don't believe you have 1.65 gears. No flooding here in northern WV like in the southern part of the state. Though our lake is flood control and very high level with alot of debris. No boating this weekend.

Go to a Marina or another boat on a trailer that has a Bravo drive you can look at .

From your horribly fuzzy photo, your Bravo lower looks hammered and hacked.

Look at 5th pic here for comparison

Yes, went out today. The numbers are below but had an issue with the engine starting to run hot. As we were trying to record the speed at 5000 I noticed the temp starting to heat up. The Rinda indicated the available power was 75 percent and the temp was 178. We slowed down and the temp starting dropping and the available power went back to 100 percent. I'm assuming I need to replace the I impeller on the Hardin seawater pump. So I did not get to record the max throttle. We limped back with the temp staying at 160. But prior to that below is what I recorded:

2000 14.2 mph trim in
2500 21.6 mph trim in
3000 30 mph trim in
3500 40.2 mph trim 5
4000 47 mph trim 5.5
4500 54.4 mph trim 5.5

RPM recorded by Rinda, speed recorded by GPS

Spark advance @ 3000 was 34 degrees

Temp was around 90, lake calm, no wind to speak of

Will measure X dimension tomorrow

3 people and almost a full tank of fuel

What about the beat up skeg ? Have you looked at another Bravo so you can see the difference ?
