Simple question.............WTH happened here...............

Obviously a factory screw up unless somebody knows something I don't. The standard Bravo Exhaust Hole distance of 27.328 center to center is
off by 3/4" per side. This is what caused allot of head scratching during this project as I could never get a straight shot with my tubes. This made welding everything up a real challenge and cause me to add allot of minor angles incorporated into the project to get it straight out the back.

Just curious to see if this is a one time oooppppps or if that the way they all are ??????????????

Try swapping risers left to right. I did it and it was much closer.

Possibly the holes were drilled for a 502 ? When I removed the factory 496 and put in a 502 I had to move the exhaust holes approximately that amount to get them to line up.

I had to go back and find a picture as I did this about 10 years ago. It looks like it was a little more than 3/4"

Thanks guys for the heads up on the holes, I was just curious. Too late to make any changes anyway as this project has just about come to the end.................

Decided not to powder, just ran over it with a 3M Fine Deburr Wheel and riser now has a shiny satin finish. Got to tidy up a few odds and ends and this exhaust mod is done.

Ohhhhhhh ya..............as soon as the weather breaks there'll be fire in the hole. I have a "before" video that I'll post alongside the "AFTER" video.

Just wanna say thanks to all those who provided some feedback, opinions and comments during this stage of the "EXHAUST MOD". I'll post up another pic when there installed and my engine room is cleaned up a little. Mind you, my boat it far from a show boat but I do take pride in what I have and this is just an extension of having some fun passing the winter days.

Thanks again all................

All tightened down, sealed up and ready to test fire, just waiting for a warmer day....................

I hate these toilet seat flappers with a passion, "BUT" my options are slim right now so they go back on for the time being:

Cpperformance has some nice looking stainless flappers...

....And yes.. apparently, Velocity DID employ blind monkeys to cut their exhaust holes.....

When I went from the 496 Mag to a tall deck raised exhaust port big block, I had wedges made to raise my tails which is to be expected...

However, I also had to slot the mounting holes in the port side riser as THAT tip was outboard over an inch !
The starboard side lined up fine. Didn't notice with the stock exhaust because of the long hoses.. now, looking at the transom it's noticeable....
