1995 22' prop trials
The boat came witha 27 4 blade hydromotive I was told I could get more speed by switching to Merc and I was also close to rev limiter. So I tried a 4 blade mer 30. I picked up 2 mph, better handling but was only turning 5000 RPMs. Then I was told to try a three blade becuase of the stock low x dim. I ran a 25 mirage plus today and was only 1 mph slower than the merc 4 blade 30 and hitting the rev limiter. I'm trying to find a 27 or 28 merc 3blade to try.

Let me know how your prop trials end up.
I too, am currently trying to find the right prop set up.
I currently run a labbed 26 bravo, but am bouncing off the rev limiter. I tried a 25 mirage and lost 2 mph. I tried a non labbed 28 bravo and gained 3 mph over my labbed 26. I am curious as to how the 27 or 28 mirage runs. I am going to be trying out a labbed 30 bravo withing the next few weeks. I am hoping it will spin around the same rpm as the non labbed 28?

Max: What boat do you have?
Do you know your x dim?
What power do you have?
What speeds are you coming up with?
And at what RPMS?
Sorry for the million ?'s.
I was bouncing off the rev with the 25 mirage, and am dang close to bouncing off the rev with the 27 hyrdomotive 4 blade. My boat handles much better with the three blade. Does yours?

I have a 1995 velocity 220.
I have a 454 with some minor motor work, exhaust, carb, intake, etc. I have the stock x dimension from the factory.
With the 26 labbed bravo, I am hitting the rev limiter up in the 5's. The 25 mirage, revved even higher than my bravo 26, so it didn't work at all. I ran a non labbed 28 bravo and was spinning 4800rpms and getting up into the 70's. I will probably stick with the 28 for the rest of the year, since I am having motor work done this winter.
I am going to have heads set up by Jim Valeyko, a new cam, and a few other things. Hoping to see right around 500hp. I am from LaPorte, just south of New Buffalo. I run mostly with Wette Vette and a few others on this board. We will going to Hardy in a few weeks for the party. If you are going to be there, look me up.
