I'm sorry to say I finished winterizing my boat on Saturday. I think the only way I'd de-winterize is if there was a serious prospective buyer that wanted a test drive. I'vs been bitten by the VR1 bug and am thinking about upgrading within the Velocity line. If we had connected a couple weeks ago, I would have enjoyed trailering my boat up to Holland and we could have tried out each others boats!
Regarding the nose cone, I talked with Tom at Hydromotive. He said if I was going around 65 MPH there'd be no benefit from the nose cone. However, at the speeds we're going (80-ish) there is only potential upside and no downside to keeping it on because it provides a more streamlined entry to the water which permits the water to remain closer to the gearcase as it feeds into the prop.
Because I have the two lab-finished 26" Bravo 1's, I thought it would be fun to replace/exchange one for a three-blade to try, but the rough water downside dampens my interest since there always seems to be rough water! The prop that is lab-finished by Mercury High Performance is a tick faster, but the prop that is finished by Hall's makes the boat handle like you describe the three-blade - totally stable and effortless to drive at full throttle.
Let me know if you know someone interested in a boat like mine!

Looking at other boats for sale, I could probably only get in the low $30's, even though I invested over $11k in the engine upgrade. The engine only has 76 hours, was built by Tyler Crockett with all the good forged parts, and includes CMI exhaust, Edelbrock aluminum heads and intake, MSD, full roller cam and rockers, etc.
Other upgrades include IMCO full hydraulic steering, Gaffrig throttle, mechanical trim and mechanical drive indicator gauges. It has other goodies like both CMI and Corsa mufflers, Hydromotive nose cone, and extra factory grab handles, water pressure and oil temperature gauges, IMCO drive shower, and of course the two lab finished Bravo 1 props. It's even stored inside a store in winter so it doesn't face the cold.
Typical of other boats I've owned, once I get everything exactly the way I want it, I look at moving on!

TONYM,
The Wette Vette I run with has never owned a T-bred.
He has always been a baja guy.
Madhatter,
I saw you up at the hardy party and was going to try and talk to you, but I was stuck in that cove that was really busy.
