An outboard powered 22 is the way to go,roomy,fast,good rough water capabilitys and best of all it will out perform any other boat in its class period,been there and have seen it first hand.

Go for it!
I have a 22 with a Yamaha 200 Pro V, that I got new in 1990.
It is a great boat that runs fast and handles well offshore. I am starting to refurbish and re-rig after pulling a leaking gas tank.
I need some leads on a shop that can do the rigging and electrical. I always wanted to really dial it in and here we go!

I live in florida. Do you know anyone out this way?
I started following the APBA races in Florida in the mid 80's after I sold a Nordic tunnel I brought with me from New Mexico.
I would sit on the shore at the races and was amazed how well the little 22's would run. Gene Whipp helped me get into the Pits to check out the boats. For a couple of years I was a Crew member without a boat!
By the time I was ready buy, Regal had the molds. I am really excited about putting the boat back right.

Welcome to OSO. I am currently looking at a 22' here in Jersey. Got to a blast in board member 1Waterboy1's(aka REMARK) this past weekend. Amazed with the performance of the 22' and how great the boat runs in Barneget Bay chop. I can see now why you ran yours the way you did. Looking forward to the day REMARK takes a blast out Manasquan Inlet and comes in through Barneget or vice a versa. Great boat by far.

Thanks for the compliments DPT....Marty, I am very happy with the boat, and any time you want to run it just let me know.What is so impressive about the boat, is how it runs through the sloppy bay chop like it is not even there.

I know..it'll be a blast in the bay...Stopped in Typhoon today, and took a look at it..looks sharp...
