Thanx guys I`m excited!
Can you recommend which engine oil to use.. previous owner used Amsoil 20w-50. Amsoil recommends marine 4 stroke oil. Also how many quarts?
Also is there seperate blower lube?

I`ll be changing all the oils today...

thank you

amsoil 20 50 seems like it would fit the bill perfect. I ran that oil in my last boat, it had a 500 efi.

Congrats on the new ride! & Welcome to the club.!
As for oil,
I've been running Royal Purple for a few years now. It was recomended by one of the top marine engine builders.

I would stick with the Amsoil 20-50. Yes there is separate lube in the blower. Most likely you can run Merc HP drive lube in the blower. Thats what I used in my 525sc blower. I'm not sure if thats what is recommended for the 671 blower on the 600sc though.

Congrats on the new boat !! A 28 with 600hp .. it's almost a perfect package !! Just another 100 or so hp and it would be perfect LOL ....
The drive should be fine as long as you listen to the previous posts and maintain it. I had around 650hp in a 26 Scarab running thru a modified Bravo (stock Bravo machined to take an XR gearset) and that drive lasted 4 or 5 years.. and as far as I know it's still going with the new owners. I did run Red Line shock proof gear lube. I'm a firm believer int that stuff. Post up some speeds when you get a chance.

I changed all the fluids Sat. fixed the gas gauge, figured out the GPS.. then Sunday we put almost 60 miles on her .. (Lake Michigan)
I think it handles the waves very well IMOP, comes out of the water a bit when going faster. I was taking it really easy out of the hole.. probably too easy but I wanna take it slow at first
This is kinda my first boat, I`ve had a Jet ski for the last 10 years and a Yamaha Jet boat a few years ago.
So I don`t have much to compare it to.. The previous owner met us to do show me a few things.

I do have a couple of questions
Warning newb zone ahead lol

On some chop I was trimming it down to keep the nose lower to 'cut' thru the waves.. with trim up it seemed to bounce more/ get out of the water. Is that correct to do?
The trim tabs I used only to level the boat

Out of the hole I want trim all the way down right? Then trim up according to conditions?
It took me like half a minute to get on plane? Just addding gas slowly till it got up there..

any tips are appreciated!

Drive all the way down and tabs at level or lower to get on plane. It'll take some practice and testing to find the ideal points for everything. Every boat is a little different.
