My motors are in launch position, vacation day tomorrow to stab them in the boat. Hopefully I won't have a bunch of alignment issues but we'll see. |
As a winter project I`m getting my ACL reconstructed tomorrow.yeehaaa!!! . who wants pics?????:lolhit:

Stainless screws and some angle iron should do the trick.
The doctor is in. |

update...WESCO square decked the blocks and added somes screens to the lifter valleys, (they were untouched by the previous builder) and I didn't want the Merlin III heads to go back on the engines without having some port work and mods done by "JimV"...full exhaust port, some chamber/unshrouding work and some special intake runner, bowl, and short side radius work done plus we went from a 2.30" intake valve to a 2.35" and we decreased the exhaust valve size from a 1.90" to a 1.88" and WESCO also surfaced the heads....

As soon as the tunnel ram gets back from getting ceramic coated this will be ready to drop back in the Jetboat. New 10 qt. pan with floating baffles and gold irridium finish from Tom at Jetboat Performance in California. Tom is the man on these old Jetboats :grinser010:

Did a little prepping and painting in the bilge while the motor was out. An old Jetboat is a labor of love. What do you think Drew ? :drink:
|
"OVERACTIVE" is at factory getting a little paint and polish. Motors are out and headers have been sent to CMI for testing and polishing. Plus new starters, raw water pumps and plugs/wires while there out. Bilge is getting awlgrip paint and all motor mounts etc. are getting repowdercoated. Gen set is getting new belts and impellors while it's out. Swim platform is off for blasting and painting and repainting the transom. A few other little paint touch-ups and it should be just like new when it's done
|
Wholly crap Mark.
I want your job. Everything's gonna look sweet when it's all done. Steve |
Nice Mark!! On both boats:cool:

Thanks guys  I dont like a dirty bilge lol. You have to run a special pan on a Jetboat because of the pump intake and the one that I had on there was homemade and leaked like hell. I think this new one should cure the problem. Drew check out Toms website www. jetboatperformance.com He's a wizard with these old jets and will bend over backwards to help you.

Let's just say the nurses had fun while you were knocked out. :lolhit: Glad it worked out. I prescribed more painkillers, you can pick them up at your local pharmacy/liquor store. |

I think this would be a spring project now but check this out..
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4..._cleardiff.jpg This diff. cover just cracks me up.. the video is dark but the cover is 100% clear. Just cracks me up seeing the stuff go round:lolhit: I figure any water or moisture that gets in there I`ll be able to tell, along with how dirty it gets and the level.. I smacked a curb a couple months ago in a winter storm so I was in there changing the axle.. figured what the hell:evilb: |
