Was there any 43's ever built? That boat with 700's and surfacing NXTs would have to be the cats Azzzz

Sorry no 43's. I think a 39 stagger is more likely to happen.

Gotta REIGN on drews party a bit and just set the record straight that the 33 I had was the best 33 built so far. Swim platform and bolstered rear seat pretty much tip the scale. Sorry broski :-)

I hope you didn't have any captain in the coke... that would been a waste of captain!!

sommerfliesby 11-30-2012 01:06 PM

Why...what's the rub on the Vyper?

You stop down at Miami Show around 3:30Friday or Saturday for a look/see of the new 37 and then when we all move to the bar upstairs you can see this madness in person! We plan on a "Farrah" pinup on the bow piling to honor her! (mouth-hole repaired, of course)

That was the only comparison, the cabin/amenities.

Terrible ride in anything over 1-2'. I have to say they are built well given mine stayed together pretty well over the five years of running hard on the lower Chesapeake Bay. Me, not so much.

Just not in the same league as AT. But then again the 340 really only has 30' of hull in the water after you deduct the 3' platform and 1' notch in the transom.

You must be the only person in history (except maybe laz since you mention him) that got beat up in anything over 1-2' waves in a vyper... Seriously. Are you a quadriplegic? :lolhit: I mean 1-2' in a 25' boat is plenty manageable. I mean I know AT's are a very nice boat but come on lol

The PQ vyper is a very nice family size hull and has a great ride with a very large cabin and deep cockpit. But when it gets snotty out trust me not so much fun. You will be wishing you where in the A/T. Mine was a straight hull with 500HP's and ran very well in a 1-2 chop but that was about it.

There is nothing besides an AT! Comparable yes, but an AT is worth waiting for & as the slogan goes "exactly like nothing else" I think it sums up the original question quite well.

But he doesn't own an AT anymore. He decided a (cough, cough) center console was more usable. So I would say he made an honest comparison after owning both and not a put down to PQ. BTW I took it in on trade and it was impeccable..

two different boats to different price tags...both will handle 1-2 foot chop just fine,,,

Corvette and Camaro are both good car,,sure the Corvette is better but you pay for it...;)

Macklin 12-01-2012 05:47 PM

Oh I see I got some panties in a wad.

Sorry if I hurt your feelings PQ boys.

Thanks Pat. As usual, you nailed it. Except I have not decided what I want next. I can say we miss the AT.

33 outboard boat. Live-a-board. Runs 70 with 300 Verados. Huge cockpit, cocktail table and bimini top. Plenty of room for the dogs! Miami Boat Show price is going to be $179k.

Oh yeah, and it doesn't ride like a P...P.....P....P....P......(never mind, you get the idea)

:lolhit: Uh.. I was in long island sound out to block island in august in 8 footers... does that count? Yeah we got really wet. That run was another testament to the AT. OCD can tell you all about it!

No you really did not hurt my feelings,,,I am a boat fan not a PQ fan..
I Just remember when you owned your 34 and loved (at list that is what you used to say at the PQ forum) and now you tell us the only water that boat could handled is 1-2 foot chop...

No wadded panties here... Just call bullchit when I see it, and that's exactly what that is:D. I enjoyed you bringing your buddy lazlo into it also, after all how could you not believe a guy who has a run 50-60 in 11 footers!:lolhit:
Enjoyour CC, maybe pat will build one someday to go with the offshore V and the performance cruiser
