OK, now that I've owned both, and have driven all of the below- here's my take on this question:
AT 37AVH vs. Sonic 386- too close to call, both very nice rides
AT 32 vs. 358 - ride goes to AT, fit and finish to Sonic. Would prefer AT in rough water, but weekends on the Sonic.
AT 28 vs. Sonic 28 (no longer built)- will the new AT28's out of the 32 mold, AT gets my vote on all categories except cleat placements.
AT 25 (no longer built) vs 26 Prowler- ride and speed goes to AT, fit and finish, amenities, cockpit goes to Sonic.
Bottom Line:
I personally think overall comparison is too close to call.
Both manufacturers make a overall nice product, and it would boil down to personal preferences, how you intend to use the boat, what features are important to you, and your perceived overall value of the boat in question.
You can't go wrong either way.
Alot of posts about top speed and such, but I would not get caught up in that, because their is ALWAYS someone faster than you.
