Andy did you figure out what went wrong with the motor that let go? Did you leak down those motors when you bought it from that guy?

A guy is so happy about fullfilling a dream to have a cool boat and has a motor go in the first ten hours and you rub it in? All over a post where he may have been blunt but wasnt 'trying' to be an *******? Thats just not very nice dude.

Bill the boat looks wicked in those pictures. The paintwork you did seems to have turned out beautiful.

The official diagnosis...........A valve came loose and bounced around till the engine locked up. We may be able to rebuild and get back on the water next season. Plenty of time to redo the bilge........
If the previous owners are reading - I planned for this to happen, it didn't suprise me that this did happen. I was happy to get 10 hours out of her for the price I paid. No regrets.

A new powerboat magazine just did a pice on Gun Smoke, it is a great looking Apache 28, but it is alittle over the top for me!!, I installed the new sea water pumps tonight, it flows water now!!!!!, I will have some GPS speed #'s this weekend.

Well Andy, I guess I am in the same boat as you, my motors went up tonight on my test run, They dont overheat anymore!!!!, Right motor have a rod nock, and left motor broke the timing chain, I guess I am getting new motors??
