I can relate- now I just order the stuff and go into full avoidance procedure when the credit card bill comes- I ran out of good excuses a long time ago!!

Nice job on your boat- I can appreciate all the hard work you have done!!

WMF 06-29-2008 12:01 AM

bigmotor 06-29-2008 08:12 PM

I prefer to buy things top notch, and turn key. So there is plenty of value in a finished project like that. I see the parts,I see the paint ,and I see a years worth of wages in labor. I'm sure you could buy two used fountains for what you have invested in this rig,but every other joker has a fountain or baha. I'm not looking for a lowball opportunity, just a clean fast boat!! Anyhow very nice work. And keep me in mind if you happen to tire of it.

WMF 07-02-2008 12:18 AM

I got both motors running tonight, the dash is done, some small wiring to do!!, but it is almost over!!! This willl be the first and last boat I restore, mybe Im just too picky or want it just wright, but it feels like it has taken forever to restore this Apache. I is going up for sale when I am done and have run the boat, just want it perfect!!!!

TexomaPowerboater 07-02-2008 08:40 AM

ar15meister 07-15-2008 09:44 AM

looking good bill.

Get it out and get it dancin buddy!:ernaehrung004:

I am sure it will be plenty fast!

TexomaPowerboater 07-16-2008 04:50 PM

Thats great Bill, I hope your engines last longer than mine. I put on 10 hours before one let loose during the 4th of July weekend. 30 hours on a rebuild............ I wish I had your budget, I think it will have to sit for a year or two before I can save enough to repower. I'm thinking Pfaff power.......something extra reliable.......but some 496HO's would be nice too. Or maybe I'll wait until Merc comes out with a supercharged 6.2.

Those 10 hours were the best boating I have ever done in my life.

R Addiction 07-16-2008 07:48 PM

Andy, You blew a motor? That sucks.....at least you have the Sea Ray to get out on.

TexomaPowerboater 07-17-2008 08:38 AM

Thats right chief, and the sea ray doesn't cost me any money. And I can get chit faced and make the women drive me home:drink: I'm trying to stay optimistic. It took me 4 years to get into a boat like this, so if it takes me another 2-3 years to slap in some power that will last 10+ years then I guess thats not so bad.

WMF 07-17-2008 02:52 PM

That is sad to hear Andy, I wish I could help out. I just had the boat out last night for the first time, I hope my motors hold up!!!!!!

WMF 07-17-2008 10:46 PM

It ran great, no speed #s yet, I still have alot of adjustments to do, I will have some GPS's #'s after the weekend.

R Addiction 07-18-2008 09:39 AM

What did you think of the ride Bill!?

WMF 07-18-2008 08:59 PM

I really dont have anything to compare it to except my Donzi's I owned. I think it ran well, I will know more on sunday, I did enjoy taking it to the gas station for the first time, I had my pic taken several times and felt like a rock star:ernaehrung004:

Here is some pics of my Apache on the water today, it ran graet except for the fact that it needs new oil cooler:eek:. just another new part:D, it did run 82 mph on the speedo before it got warm!!!!!!!

TexomaPowerboater 07-22-2008 04:36 PM

Thanks for the comments guys, that helps.

Thanks for the offer Vyper, but I can't really move the boat outside of the Texoma area. I may take you up on that next spring if my game plan doesn't work out.

Apache Bill - boat looks great on the water. Let us know how you like it in the rough. Maybe I'll pick up on your thread when I clean up the bilge this winter. I figure while its sitting I might as well repaint or clean up the bilge and replace as much plumbing as I can. I'm actually looking forward to that. We've already got the two engines out and one off to the shop.

WMF 07-22-2008 08:06 PM

Thats not very nice:eek:, Hope all works out well for you Andy, if you need any info let me know!!!

Perlmudder 07-22-2008 08:30 PM

boat looks killer! i bet it felt great to finally run it!
