I noticed in the Baja brochure, that the 26' and up Outlaws have "Offshore Engine Mounts", while the 20 and 23 Outlaws do not. What's the difference between these two mounts? Will the 20 and 23 engines pull out of their mountings if the boats are used offshore?

The offshore is a plate mount connected to angle aluminum and thru bolted. It is non adjustable. The regular mount is a pedestal type and is adjustable. With regular mounts the adjustment may change with time and abuse but it won't come loose from its mountings.

Yes, but they also have a retaining angle that is thru bolted to the stringer to keep the mounts from just tearing out. but the angle will allow the lag to back out a bit. I think the offshore mounts have been a great addition to what seems to be a brand that is evolving into something a lot better than in the past. Watch out Reggie

Baja has long used engine mounts bolted to aluminum L-angles that are through bolted to the stringers. This includes the 20 Outlaw and 23 Outlaw and this design has been used on most performance boats. Just about every review of the boats I have ever read praised Baja for using this tried and true method instead of going to the cheaper less stout design of lag bolting a riser to the stringer such as you would find in a family runabout.
Baja has recently designed a more solid type mount that is utilized on the newer boats they are building. I attached a picture. It it more of a cradle mount and eliminates the adjustable riser mount.

You should ALWAYS check the alignment especially if you pull your engines but we have done it twice and the drives were PERFECT with the offshore mounts.
