Dock,
The motors look good. I am in the same process as you. I am redoing the motors for the race boat. All new cranks and rods.

Thank you

This is a first for me and I am very pleased with Mark Boos and his team. They have made this very easy and are nice to work with.

I wish you the best of luck with your project. What are you shooting for on horsepower?

Dock,*I am hoping to keep them around 750hp. If we get more out of them cool. But not trying to get anymore. All the boat has to run is 94.9999

I will be VERY happy if we see 94.899!

Reminds me of a local guy with a 353 Formula with 500's and Whipples that hit 99.9 GPS and never got triple digits!

Good luck

Nice looking motors dock, cant wait to see the results.

If that were my boat above, I would have found a nice flowing stream and got my 100mph!!

Yeah that would be cool if you it that speed. I have had it over a 100mph on the gps. With different props and the right conditions. But i detune it for racing.
Keep posting pics as you get them. I will look forward to checking them out.

HEY HEY HEY

The first motor finally hit the dyno today!

Mark broke it in and then did one pull and with only 3 PSI of boost it made 708 Horsepower at 5200 RPM.

He was impressed and with that number and said he could set them up at that to run on 87 octane fuel!

He called me and went on speaker phone and everyone here in the office heard him start it back up and do another 708 HP pull. It sounded strong.

I will know Monday when we get back what they will actually do. We are expecting 900+ HP and will set them up at 800 to run all the time.

Hopefully I will be heading down there week after next to bring them both back home.

I'll keep you posted.

probably a dumb ques, but how to do set them up to run on 87 octane? Is it a matter of having more displacement & less boost?

Very low BOOST. He just mentioned to me that it could be done, but I plan to run about 7 PSI of boost and run 93 octane to be safe.

With fuel prices the way they are I have the option of putting the large pulley on and dropping the boost if I desire.

Dropping the boost is a step in the wrong direction. You can't do that!
