if your going to buy a prop i would call hydromotive and see what they say. but if you can find a labed 24p then it should be pretty good fit for your boat. id say you will see a big increase in cruz speed and 2-3 mph on top atleast thats what my testing tells me.
as for a rylar kit or blower. i personally wouldnt do either. the 496 is a good stock motor but has not 1 good part in it, its unbalanced motor with crap crank, crap rods and crap pistions. if your going to dump $10-$14k into it your much better off to find a nice shinny blue motor to toss in there. then a blower on top and forget about it!!!

I disagree with that. After spending the $10-14K for upgrades, you will have a more powerful better bulit engine AND new. With a take out blue engine, you are getting another used engine which could have been abused....you really can't tell. And with all the CMI issues one the blue engines..........

From what I have read there has been very little issues with the raylar kit.

I talked to Bblades and he said if he owned the boat he would do the labbed 24-blade

For $10-$14K you could build ONE very nice motor with the best of the best part inside and you could have it your way & be sheep dog instead of a sheep.

what im saying is putting $10k into a 496 is some what silly you can build a real nice set up for $10+k. the heads cam intake is a great kit but not cheap and your still stuck with an unbalanced non forged motor.

thats a good one then, but most of the kits are intake, heads cam etc. they dont do internals.

if your gonna mod a 496 you should go forged and balanced for sure.
