Speaking of turns, WOW, have you ever seen anything turn like these big outlaws? I am blown away.
Boss,

Couldn't agree with you more

The ride is unbelievable too. My wife even commented that she hasn't felt anyway near this secure in our past boats (25 Outlaw and 26 Sonic).

This one is definitely a keeper! Looking forward to getting it dialed in.

Put synthetic, like Mobil one, in the engines and Amsoil synthetic in the drives.

Marty,

Good point, that's always good for about 100 rpm. Less internal friction will free up the engine a little.

Wow - you've owned a 25 Outlaw and a 26 Sonic. How did the two compare in terms of handling rough water? If I ever went back to a single engine setup, these two boats comprise the short-list.

Hey Guy's,

I could not agree more about the handling and ride of all Baja boats. I have been in just about every model from the 208 up to the 322(looking forward to my first ride in a 33 or 36 outlaw), and I have always been impressed and felt comfortable in the boat. Of course, that is why Baja does not want to go away from the tradional vee design, heck I am willing to give up some top end speed for a safe comfortable ride.

Have a good day,

TP,

I agree. After reading that two different OSO members got tossed out of two different Sunsations within the last month, it makes me glad I have a 7800 pound lead-sled.

ditto...the one thing my baja never feels, is light in the water. That is one of the reasons I named her Girthbaby...

Hey GAMEMAN,

I find it kind of amazing that you saw 77.2 on GPS with 27 pitch Mirage. I run 27 pitch Mirage and saw exactly 77.2 on GPS as well. That’s one heck of a coincidence. I wonder if it has to do with the fact that my 29 with HO’s has an identical power-to-weight ratio as your 33 with HP’s. I wonder if all the Outlaw hulls are so similar that a person could extrapolate power-to-weight ratios across the whole Outlaw fleet in order to calculate theoretical speeds.

If so, then:
It would take 594hp to push a 25 Outlaw 77.2mph.
It would take 1038hp to push a 36 Outlaw 77.2mph

Makes interesting food for thought.

29 Outlaw,

Well, thats an interesting comparison.

The Sonic is a lot heavier, and has a bit more freeboard, so you sit much lower in the boat.

I had to use the tabs quite a bit in the Sonic (hardly ever touched them in the 25 Outlaw).

In terms of ride in rough water, a slight edge to the Sonic. But overall, I think its a toss up. Better cabin in the Sonic, Outlaw is faster with same HP, Outlaw quicker to get on plane, etc., Sonic more unique graphics, etc. etc.

I'll take my 33 Outlaw over either
