Props for 33 Outlaw with HP500s

Attached is a link to the Hot Boat test (99 33 Outlaw with HP500s). Looks like 28 B1s are the place to start.

Family and Performance Boat Magazine tested one a couple of months ago. It had 500efi's and was running 28 B1's. They only saw 4800rpm and commented that they thought it was over-propped. Nonetheless, they got 78mph out of it.

Guys,
Just got a wierd call from my Marina. I asked them to swap the 24s for 28s. They tested it and siad they only got 4200 rpm
The guy that tested it knows what he's doing.
The Hot Boat test (99) with 28s got 48-4900. With the 24s I could hit 54-5600. If I deduct a couple of hundred rpm per pitch, that would put me somewhere around 46-4800 which seems about right (I was planning on getting these labbed). The HB test didn't mention wether or not the props were labbed.
I haven't had a chance to try it myself, but am kinda shocked.
If that's the case, 26s may be the way to go?

Results of the 28s: 42-4400 RPM, 68-70MPH
Results of the 24s: 52-5600 RPM, 72-74MPH
I still don't understand the Hot Boat test, 4900 RPM. Even with labbing, I don't think I could get that.
I guess its time to try some 26s.

If it helps any - I tried some Bronson Hill 26 B1's eariler this year. My boat has twin HO's. I had no problem producing RPM (5100-5200) but speed sucked compared to 3 blade props I had tried (I saw only 73-74). Your boat has the same power/weight as mine so perhaps some labbed 26's will fit the bill. It's just too bad that you can't go with 3 blades.

No, I ran 'em (all speeds are GPS). With the 24s I'd "bounce" up to 5600. Very light load. Most of the time it would be between 52 and 5400. The boat came with 24s since the pervious owner really liked the hole shot.
The 28s were very disappointing in terms of RPM and speed. As I said, most I could get out of them consistantly was 4200. I was hoping for 4800, then I figured I could get them labbed and make up the difference. I still can't figure out why the RPMs were so low.
I pulled them off and am back to the 24s until I get some 26s to try.
You running 1.5 drives?
