How well did oes your 29 handle rough? Adults is one thing, but I have a 4 and a7 year old.. 2-3's are OK but would like that smoothed out since we normally don't take some runs across lake b/c its usually 2-3's! So if were a good bit smoother, we would clock more hours each year!!?? 33 will be better but almost $10k more... ??

2-3's are fine...it handles the bulk headed washing machine of Conroe just fine and Conroe can be pretty snotty. The boat plays a roll in it but the driver is key. If you know how to run it (whatever it is brand/size) then you know how to run it if you know what I mean...if you know where the sweet spots are and what the boat likes/doesn't like and where to run it at they can all be pretty forgiving.
My X Father-in-law took his 29 to the Bahamas following me in a 33 one year...did fine. It's all in picking your days, hell broke a 33 OL that same trip out there...that's a hell of a story to tell.
