2-3's are fine...it handles the bulk headed washing machine of Conroe just fine and Conroe can be pretty snotty. The boat plays a roll in it but the driver is key. If you know how to run it (whatever it is brand/size) then you know how to run it if you know what I mean...if you know where the sweet spots are and what the boat likes/doesn't like and where to run it at they can all be pretty forgiving.
My X Father-in-law took his 29 to the Bahamas following me in a 33 one year...did fine. It's all in picking your days, hell broke a 33 OL that same trip out there...that's a hell of a story to tell.

Oh and we could swap some stories too.. have another buddy who had a 30ol that had a good view of the back of Josh's boat on a cpl trips! Josh didn't even know was going on.. supposedly! Lets say a lil party on the sunpad! Rated NC 17!!

We'll swap some stories sometime, if you still talk to Josh he knows a few of mine, we'll get together sometime, should be fun. Seen a guy hook a Top Gun on Conroe....rollers is 180 of Conroe but I hear ya. Boated where you are in my prior life a few times...29 is fine and of course a 33 would be better...and a 36...38...40...42...46...50 etc ;-). I talk to him about a month ago.. Spring is a nice area too! Spent several weeks there when I worked for UP.
Hooters right there, Sam's boat up the road was nice! And of course paid my dues at St. James!!
