From what I read, seller did not respond in any way for two weeks. That is a red flag to me, you only have so much time to back out. Seller has to know there will be bad feedback. As a frequent buyer, I would have lost faith in the seller at that point. How hard is it to respond to an e-mail? They do it on the space station and in Antarctica. A good friend with a broken neck from a sprint car accident two weeks ago responded to my texted words of encouragement within 8 hours from his hospital bed.

When you list an item you assume an obligation to stay in touch. The buyer has established himself as "trustworthy" on e-bay with his 151 (100%+) rating. I say send him a prepaid return label and make the refund when shipper picks up.

I tried to keep this private, ( see post #58 ), and did. Then commandersander decided to start this one sided bashing post. I didn't see it for a week and he and his buddies had a field day. When I posted the actual facts,( Post 58 ) they all went away, including him. It is on him to step up, ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

on a GOOD note ; I ordered a set of pushrods from JEGS at 6 pm , checked the FREE shipping box, they arrived at 12 noon, THE NEXT DAY ! Actually made my day.

I can't believe there is this much drama over 200 bucks. That is less than half a tank of fuel in most of our boats and less than most of us use in a weekend.

Send the guy back his $200 bucks. I don't see how it is about the principle of things when you delayed shipping and mistakenly forgot to ship a key component rendering the inverter useless.

Two weeks later (I think this is where he is getting this time frame from) he writes that HE was on vacation....not me. Any of the mods can confirm whether or not I had a 2-week hiatus......

Meanwhile, I have an email in my home inbox dated prior to his contact to me post vacation disputing the charge.
Two days later, I have another showing the reversal of the funds. A week later I get another stating my account is being forwarded to collections.
Now, I tell dale that I am growing tired of him. He won't pay to ship back, shorted me on the initial pmt, I ate shipping and he's jerking me around with paypal. Yeah, growing tired.
I didn't start this as a bash fest, but more for candid conversation. It's the Bullsheet two story he's spewing now, and the runaround he gave me before I posted.

As far as dignity and principle, I hold myself at the highest standard. I'm on ebay too, same name....also 100%, also over 100 trans. Check it out....

You two both seem like good guys. I don't think there is a scumbag in this deal. Talk face to face and hammer this out. It was a deal that went $hitty, it does happen from time to time. It is way easier to work it out when you actually hear a human being on the other line, not words on a screen.

For the record, I still wouldn't hesitate to buy or sell from either of you two. This isn't your typical "this guy is a scumbag" thread.

No one is bashing you now . This is an ugly misunderstanding due to emails or missed emails, don't much matter it's gotten nasty. How difficult is it to call someone and settle this once and for all. Said this a week ago and got bashed, but its much easier to talk to a human and work chit out. My 2 cents!

I don't think the point is moot, One guy seems to be following standard procedure for ebay purchases. The other did not ship on time, did not respond to communications for two weeks and did not ship everything needed. The shipper also claims to be in the right. IMO the shipper messed up and should make it right since we are talking principals. Pretty sure ebay does not want you to communicate outside the "system" which is the sellers response to all his mistakes.

I'm going with paypal tried to take the funds back from sander but the funds weren't in the account. Hence the -200 account balance and the account being in collections.

There's a few more details I've noticed and have a pretty strong opinion who did what and who should make it right but I try not to get involved in these types of threads. That question was just laying there waiting for an answer though.

At the very least if Sanders has his 200 he should send out the controller ASP because that was included in the deal other wise he is just stealing from the buyer

My position has been been and remains about the principle of this.....ummm....gone awry transaction.

Yes....I shipped late....and because of it, I paid shipping. Yes, the control panel is here.....mistakenly left out. I took a position of obstinance ONLY because he filed a claim PRIOR to attempting to communicate with me.

Looked and felt very shady.

In the end, I'm the bigger man. Dale has the inverter minus control panel. Dale or paypal has the money he sent, which by all means was never 200net to me.....the agreed price....

So, I have decided.....that I will not send the panel. Also, I will not refund the 200 paypal has. Additionally, I will not pay for return shipping.

What I will do, only as a gesture of good faith as I harbor no Iill will in this.....

Tomorrow, dale will receive a 100 paypud from me. With it, he can purchase a control panel, or minimize his alleged loss (I don't have his money....email from PC next) or go buy drinks. However, to keep the tally straight my brothers.....

From this side....

Dale is getting an additional 100 for me being a dick?......I guess?

Spend another 10 bucks and throw the control board in the mail to him with a check for a 100 bucks.

That way If he is over the deal he can Fleabay it and recoupe his other 100 on the deal..

Now you only netted 55 bucks on the deal instead of 65 but at this point it's about goodwill..

Kinda sour grapes to throw back in his face about you paying the shipping because you did not ship it on time originally and the fact that it was use less without the control board .

I'd certainly consider that item necessary to make the unit function as part of the original transaction
I won't say this has been an enjoyable thread but once it's all resolved it will be a thread which can assist us all down the road.
I know in my heart you two can work this out and if I see something I want listed by y'all I would make the purchase from either of you two.
