98-99...looks like 97.5 to me.

Judging by offshore cowboy, the 39 is 6-8 mph faster than the 38?
Is a 39 525 boat faster than a 38 525?

No they run about the same 85-87 depending on load ect...

Offshore cowboy is running 6 blade props tweaked by throttle up i believe... hence the higher top end...ours is running stock merc 32s...i'm guessing the same 6 blade props on a 38 would add a few mph as well

A couple more questions if you don't mind......does anyone know at what hour 600's typically need a refresh? How do the XR's hold up with 600's? And finally, what kind of head room is in the cabin? Thanks again.

Robby, Has Vinny had any drive issues?

Omerta one,

I don't know if you remember this, but I looked at your 38 ZR earlier this year at Pier 57. I loved the boat, but decided against it because of the lack of head room in the cabin. Can you comment on the head room difference between the ZR and your new TG? Thanks

The boat has not had any drive issues. Drive oil has been changed regularly. If your quick with the sticks and dont do too many hole shots, the drives are reliable. Not sure on the refresh schedule on the 600s. I'm sure someone more knowledgable on the issue will chime in.

600 is a great motor. I would be concerned with the reliability of an XR drive behind a blower motor. Now if your easy out of the hole and run on a flat body of water, no problem. Choppy water and more then 4 blades is going to be very hard on the drives. Just plan on putting new ones on every 100 hours and you'll be fine. XR's are inexpensive and easy to change.
