hmm maybe 4 then..based on the number.
generally its broken down like this

CRT24045L586
crt is cigarette racing team
24 length of boat
045 should be production number
L not sure
586 is month and year...

unless they went with a diff numbering system for the firefox.

I know where hull one is, or what we belive to be hull one, it was purchased at the NY city boat show in dec of 71 it is a 1972 cig 19 of which 3 were made the first year. The boat doesn't have a HIN stamped in the hull that was not made mandatory til nov of 1972 for the 1973 model year .
the boat was registered in 1972 as a cig 19 in 73 they went to a 20 same boat same mold . According to Brownie that was due to the CG making boats under 20 feet have flotation foam Donzi also moved their hornet 19 to a 20 footer

when we pulled it apart for the resto we found written on the foam of the seats from bilt rite interiors cig 19

we had it out at the 20 cig run a few years ago it's all black yellow stripes yellow interior

He posts on here under "cig19" I believe. There are other pictures on the site that he's posted of it, and it's one of my few favorite ones.

My old boat was one of the first three 1972 Cig 20's.

I found all three and only myself and number three had the original serial number to compare.

My was built in July 1972 and his was built in the fall of 1972.

Based on this mine was either hull number 2 or number 1.

Considering the information on Cig19's boat, would guess that mine was hull #2.

Sold it to KLAW this spring.

Here are some pics.

In one you can see my old green banana boat next to it.

I havn't been on the site for a while......but love to talk about my boat just as much as my friend Matty, who helped me do much of the resto work. The black and yellow combination is the original color combination of this hull.

I kept it the same, but replaced the tired looking teak with mahogany. We used Awlgrip paint for top, bottom and the yellow boot stripe.

Kenny , really the only two items that weren't restored to original were the teak which would have needed attenion by now The mahogany looks awesome

and the old chris craft exhaust risers which only weighed about 300 lbs so the upgrade to the Stainless Marine risers were also a good call

but after that , everything else is the way she left 188th some 37 years ago she looks better now then she ever did, she as aged like a fine wine

Default I think I have you guys mom #0

my boat has no hin but has paper work from 1972 and was pulled from a mold with no chine!!!!!!! The chine were screwed to the fresh gell coat glassed over then the bottom was faired and the boats bottom was primed with shiny gray primer... you do not build a boat like this its how you build a prototype and a mold plug. the boat was cut for out drive and jet drive also what you do when making a plug. so it was the first 20 built and built to test the 20 and most likely tested by Don Aronow to set chine position! and was most likely use to make the mold for all the fallowing 20's the wood chine proves it guys.. I will be stripping my bottom and take some cores to prove the way it was built.... kind neat
