first photo is of a neat glass that expands to make a solid glass core!
second photo is of what we used that neat glass that expands to cover. the alum gas tanks rots from the out side, fumes from the gas keeps air out of the tank keeping alum from rotting from inside out. the alum inside the fiberglass gas tank in my b35 was like new after 38 years at sea. so i cover all alum tank with expanding glass and fuel tank epoxy, the hallow core the expanding glass forms acts like the twin hull of a tug boat to prevent leaking. when finished you end up with is a twin walled epoxy fuel tank with an alum core that will out live ur boat. u can just use old tank as a mold but expect to use 15 gallons of resin for a solid epoxy tank over the 1 gallon of resin to cover this tank, and expect the solid epoxy tank to be much, much heaver.
third photo is of the jet drive pick up. i cantered the edge paper thin covered the bottom of the hole with a pice of plastic and layed in glass till it was as thick as factory, she will still need glass & grind when the hull is flipped to do the bottom.
