Its getting expencive. Thanks. Gauges (custom color numbers and needles) and orderd. All new Wires and switches are next on the list. Builge glass work and paint next if the weather would work out. Then sound system.

The paint is in great shape not wild about it but not in the buget at the time long with vinyl. Maybe next winter in them.

Looks great! When do we start putting it back together?

Back4More 01-21-2013 10:33 PM

Real nice!

caseyh 04-15-2013 01:58 PM

It's been a while! Not much has gone on. Ready to order the wiring and all that goes with it. but it's time to put on a poker run. So at least another 3 weeks before it will be worked on again.

carter38 04-15-2013 02:36 PM

Looking good no need to rush things now gone way to far for that.

Been a while! Had some unforeseen issues. Nothing with the actual boat it's self but had to be straightend out. Seeing the light after months of weighting.

Did get some new inter transom plates made. Came out great.

I was wondering how its going, glad to see your back on it, these "projects" take so much time believe me I know, but if your doing it yourself like me the rewards are great, not only will you know every inch of your boat, you'll never have to pay someone (unless you want to) to do work on your boat, and the pride you have after you start completing little projects that help finish the whole job is priceless....hey I wanted to be on the water this summer, it wasn't in the cards I guess, just to much to do, and I'm to much of perfectionist, but the boats done the way I want it done, and I did it, not someone else, and I will be on the water in the spring,...keep going man......

Looking good Cassey. Hope to come down next yr and run my 38avs there and make a trip to bourbon st. Nice to see you taking my old boat to a new level. You'll have to post dyno sheets when you overhaul motors!

caseyh 09-27-2013 08:12 AM

You have to cut the lip that hangs over the at the back bulk head. Mine was cut higher up then needed. But it was done that way to make sure nothing need addressing while it was getting work done. If you look at that First pic you can see it was cut up About 6" above the floor. Then remove the foam if it's even holding it in. They should come right up.

Nice work Casey. You took on a huge project and it is looking good. Hang in there - it will all be worth it in the end.

eightsecmopar 01-23-2014 06:05 PM

There is a ton of work that will never be seen. The whole way the cockpit drains has been reworked to stop it from going by the tanks both front and rear bulk heads have been add too for strength. Had some stress cracks in the cabin door. Witch from some research is common? All that's been cut out and fix to never happen again. Etc

Tanks are good so keeping them.

You can see the over hang in these pictures that has to be cut out.

Can see the notch too in this pic.

jeff32 02-04-2014 08:10 PM

why did you take the tanks out if they were still good? just for a big clean up while at it?

caseyh 02-04-2014 09:09 PM

To start how do you know what the bottom side of them look like? What looks ok on the top can be all pitted on the bottom and sides and about to go. The foam was old and pulled away in parts so wile it was a part way not? Had new foam for it to repair it so desided to make it right and go 100% into it. Then from there beefed up parts of the boat bullets are known to be week. Like the back bulk head.while there beefed up the front one as well. Then reworked some other things like the drains for the front and cockpit. It's dumb and expensive some say, but I know what I have and it's right and not going to give me problems.

You can spend thousands on pain and bling and still have a pice of crap under it. What we call a lip stick boat looks good but is junk. My not have bling but will be built right and like a tank.

LAriverratt 02-05-2014 05:45 AM

nice to see it progressing along...may is not too far off. You gonna make it?
