I love the open wall in front of the engines on the Bullet, makes working on the engines sooooo nice.

Getting a plan together last night on the next steps for the boat. The use of EFI came up. Now thinking about switching while it's still a clean slate to rig. What's yalls thoughts?

frickstyle 10-15-2015 09:10 AM

Yes, go EFI. After all of my expenses, it would have been the way to go, one of a few regrets on this build.

Should have went EFI and Whipple instead of Carbs and 14-71s, oh well, keepin' it old school i guess.

caseyh 10-15-2015 12:26 PM

No blowers for me that's for sure. Think it will have more power then the bottom and drives can handle.

I can sale carbs and full MSD systems for the motors. All the stuff is new and the carbs are fully built tuned

I made the change to EFI at the same timing as you're at, and I am glad I did. I'll shoot you a link to my builds if interested. They came out great and reliable.

caseyh 10-18-2015 06:55 PM

After talking to the engin builder it will be about 5k per motor. Would rather take that 10k to finish the boat. Paying cash so no note and debt free is the way to be. Going mechanical fuel pumps also. Making it simple and ez. May have to crank on them and docking may be harder with the size and build of the motors but can work around that.

Going to go with the same purple on the motors as the gauge bezels, grab handles and dash writing have

Looks good, just realized you started this thread in 2012.... Are you going to be ready for May?

That's the plan. But that being said its been the plan the last two years. lots lf obstacles were hit along the way.

nailit 11-25-2015 06:44 PM

Well I hope to see it! I was busy with work out of town last year and his was the first we missed in about 5-6 years. Only other one we missed was when they had 25mph winds across lake and we could get there from Slidell! A friend in a 40ft skater only made it to madisonville!

Good luck!!

caseyh 11-28-2015 07:13 PM

Paint. We back into the docks here and powdercost always comes off on the outer tube on the back. So paint is the simplest to touchup at the end of a seaso.

ICDEDPPL 01-10-2016 06:47 PM

Looking good, what kind paint did you use? Rattle can?

kreed 01-11-2016 06:47 AM

Are the TRS drives going back on the boat? What kind of power do those engines make?

kreed 01-11-2016 06:48 AM

Yes ghe TRS are.going back on. Taking donations for a set of Konrads 540 PRS with the shorty if anyone would like to donate to the Casey needs some newer drives fund. After all the work had to be done to this boat didn't have it in the budget to upgrade drives.

The motors make 724 HP and 725tq they are within 1% of each other on power output also.

I was running 700HP in front of TRS in a TOP GUN, and they lasted 3 seasons. With the Bullet being lighter than a Gun, I wouldnt worry TOO MUCH,,,,but I would worry...lol

frickstyle 01-11-2016 08:47 AM

Sweet, bye-bye drives.......

Are you thinking you'll be running this year?

Yes at some point this year it will be going. Throwing a big party for my parents 35th wedding anniversary and my mom will be cancer free for 12 years. Combining the two for one big party. The band my sister wanted to book is very expensive so may cut into my build fund for having it on the water for spring........ remember I am taking drive donations for Konrads or spare TRS's lol.

frickstyle 01-11-2016 10:05 AM

Ha, I've spent enough on drives and haven't even driven the boat yet! Went from TRS, to Konrad, To #5 SSM. We got a lot of rigging experience and lost a lot of money in the process!!!

He wouldn't have 4500 posts on the OSO forum if it was. He'd be way too busy with non boating activities. LOL

ICDEDPPL's avatars are the best. Ever.

I wish but this one of there favorite bands. It's the least I can do for all the opportunities they gave me in life. My mother has said over and over she wants this band for her one day cancer free party. Wouldn't be on this site to day if it was for them buying boats when I was 8. or my dad making me go do jobs after work to pay for my first power boat when in was 21. Teaching me if I want I'll work for it. They have no clue it's happing will mean a lot more then running a damn boat a few weeks or months eairler. If it comes to this slowing down work on it.

MN35LIGHTNING 01-11-2016 11:33 PM

What you're doing right there is beyond words. (Lost my mom to cancer so this hits home.) Awesome resto BTW - keep up the good work on (and off) the Cig.
