Hahahaha ok

There's 2 cafe's I've had an eye on for 45k, one has 496's and bravo XR's, the other has pro charged 502 efi's.. You have, at best, turned your $19k investment into $35k.. Not sure that your "shop" will make it with that profit margin, but I do believe in karma, and unfortunately for you, you created some bad stuff about 6 months ago.. That being said, the boat looks decent, not what I'd have done, but we all have a different flavor, and that's fine.. I can admit that if I indeed had ended up with this thing initially I couldn't have accomplished what you have in this amount of time, so kudos on your hard work.. GLWS, and if you end up getting stuck with it, I'll give you $19k for it.. Cheers, and no more hard feelings for me, I'm over it. Give 'er hell Phil, that's what they're made for..

Justin your a stand up guy to just let it go!
|
I will let it go also, but food for thought on the pricing.... but I am the idiot here lol I give Phil credit for the drive, I been there, lots of guys told him what was gonna happen, and now love him, that's fine, I am sure hes a good kid and all that, but better off hanging onto and enjoying the boat....
for 2000.00 more starting price, I would go for this.....twice the boat and much faster... http://www.midwestboatbrokerage.com/...sp?veh=3801299 |
Can somebody please just post all the pics of this thing completed? I want to see how this thing turned out.
|
Haven't seen any with wall all the interior in it. Just the back seat. It looked good. Few things I would have done different on the build but it would have coats $1000+ to do and he's Trying to sale it. so I can see why he didn't do it. In all looks good from the pic's I have seen.
|
Full that boat can be hand in heard for 43000
|
Justin, I appreciate that. Ya there's some
Things I woulda done differently on it but like it's been said, I'm not keeping it I didn't want to make the boat something it was not also. If I wasn't selling it and had more to throw at it I woulda done big power and Konrads but it is what it is. And the price is obo that's just going to be the advertising price. Cash talks bull**** walks. Here's some photos from picking it up from tims shop. Need to spend some time buffing on it more but it'll give ya the look of the paint and I love it http://i58.tinypic.com/16jla89.jpg http://i61.tinypic.com/2qbvt5t.jpg http://i58.tinypic.com/16jla89.jpg http://i61.tinypic.com/2cygoig.jpg http://i61.tinypic.com/2wc2m1k.jpg http://i62.tinypic.com/281v48h.jpg |

I don't hate Phil, I don't even know the kid, I just showed him what happens when super cocky in the beginning and I am not the type of person to kiss ass and jump on a bandwagon, I will give him credit for doing the boat, might look real good, no idea, I do know that I would have done the interior more simple, and really made the engines bling if your not going to rebuild, at least make them look sweet, that's a big deal to buyers for top dollar...
if I see the boat sell for a cent over 35,000 I would be extremely surprised, sorry its still a low power not rebuilt Café.... I could not get 25,000 for mine with 600's I bet and my boat is in great shape, these boats are getting older as newer ones are being had in the 50-80,000 range these days.... and yes, sorry Phil, but get rid of that hitch that's gonna bite you one day..... |
I will however give Phil credit for having transom straps on the boat, even though I would use the bigger ones lol SOOOOO many people don't do that at all... so dumb...

I'd suggest you have some glaring issues with that boat at that price. The trailer looks like crap. In one of the photos it looks like the cabin interior has carpeting on the walls. If that's correct it's a no go. You went blingy with the seat upolstery but old school with the dash, that conflicts. I admire your energy. Another thing I'd suggest is be very careful in your wording in your ad, the language can help the sale or kill it.

Phil, not trying to bring you down but I have similar questions as Interceptor.
So you paid 19k for boat?, trailer still looks like crap, paint looks decent, cockpit interior looks good (how much did that cost you to do from a guy at LOTO with all your gas money getting it there and back). How much did you pay to have 88Bullet rig it for you, and gas money for transportation to his shop and back? looks like you got a lot of loose ends to finish on the boat, looks like you have never touched the cabin on the boat, looks like you just pulled the engines and drives cleaned them and put them back in (no real work there). How much is the rent and utilities per month at your SHOP? My perspective is you have lost any hope of profit even with doing most of the work yourself. And please get a new hitch for your truck! I would hate to see the next update to be a picture of this boat in a ditch because your hitch failed. |

the 5,000 dollars i charged him was money well spent!!!!

I agree with interceptor and sun rocket on many of their points.
The cafe was supposed to be the modernizing step in the cig lineup, transitioning from the flat deck/mistress era to the more modern feel. Following that theme, all the great cafe Restos we've seen on here, that even stand a chance of bringing decent money, have all updated the boats which is what most people want - carbon fiber dash like stecz did, pop up cleats like SKRAMER has, heads up indicators, new switch panels like on the new stepped boats, etc..... I can appreciate the work you did, but unfortunately you've taken the cafe and made it look like a mistress with that color scheme and interior. That checkered pattern bench seat is either very European or very 1970's jersey diner - either way, not fitting for the boat. Frankly for 49k I'll deliver mine with a full tank of premium, a cooler loaded with mid grade liquor, and a used cigarette t-shirt that has a small mustard stain on it from one of the "power for a cure poker runs". |

The only reason Phil got chit was when he said he was gonna redo the entire boat for 10,000 or so, in very little time, many said it cant be done, he said he will show us, that was on FB not here of course.... that's the ONLY reason he got chit from us.... was very cocky.... maybe he isn't now but he sure was then.... and I also said at the time that his labor himself still needs to have a number on it, he said it didn't matter since it was his own build to sell for profit, well do all you guys do labor for free? I know I put a number on myself when doing a project or work on cars I sell like my Mustangs I part, my time is factored into my profits... you must pay yourself as that time could be spent making money elsewhere...hey more power to him of he gets top dollar, but its just not gonna happen, if I was him I would just keep it and enjoy the first one and use it to show off my work if its that nice, I do think some cheap fixable things could have been addressed to help justify a 47,000 asking price... like gauges and some cabin work.I know some guys agree with me but would never admit it here...

Went and dug into the "bullet rebuild" folder here at the house. Try not to look at numbers when doing so. That early t/s gun is getting closer by the day to the rebuild coast. The dash as we all know can be very expensive a dash can be. all new electrical panals(dash, tabs/drives, under Seat and in cabin) new style toggle switches and coustom cored gauges I am in $4000. Can see why he didn't want to do that.
Just a painted panel from the black would change the look for a few bucks in paint. |
you can find deals on gauges and redo a dash for WAY under 4000... I have done it....don't have to be crazy expensive to be new... or even a real nice set of used gauges, and paint the panels would do wonders and its cheap to do...

Man, I have been behind you, tried to offer encouragement and advice,,,, You NEED to do the dash!! Its a major focal point. It needs to be modern and it needs to pop. Look at how I did mine, completely different yes, but I brought it up to date. modern switches, heads up indicators, (you can do trim sticks pretty reasonable) etc. The steering wheel looks like you ganked it from a civic in the high school parkinglot.. Im not dissing your work, Im trying to help you get it to the level you want it to be, you need to make everything catch the eye yet all flow together, Thats where the artistry and talent come into play.
|
That's what I was getting at. Just a painted panel would be a huge difference.
I went way over board and hand all new CNC cut and Ingraved lettering on panels , painted and the toggle lettering was a different color ,top of the line toggles and each guage face was custom made. |
Gotcha....
|
like i said, its not 100% done. but thanks
