Type in any search engine.... John Crouse Searace .....and it will come up with Johns website. You can buy a copy directly from him and also get info on the new book he is writing which has even more inside stories of the sport.

There is another thread going on now with this same subject in general discussion with a lot of information, I think it is on page three or so.

According to the book,on March 26, 1972, Val and his brother Paul were killed during the "Schwepps 80" offshore race in Sydney, Austrailia. Val was a father of six young children under nine years. Paul left eight children from infants to 17.

The boat was later sold to auto dealer Arnold Glass, of Sydney. He had won the same race in it the following year and won five other races and the 1973 Austrailian championship.

The only other mention of the boat in this book was in 1976 it was now owned by another Austrailian, Norm Jenkin. It had placed third in the race mentined.

Who knows where it is today?

Kurt.
In a warehouse in Sydney Australia, thats what I was told about 2 months ago.

We have a HORBA member in Australia, that has been on the trail of this boat for the last few months......some dead ends, but not the end of the trail by any means.

www.historicraceboats.com

Also, we have found 100 original copies of SEARACE still in the original sealed plastic, inside the original cardboard carton they were put in in 1989.

For sale at theoriginal price of $69.95 on the HORBA site in the store.
