OK Brownie - No stories yet but I will post a few pics to test my skills. This picture....I flew our support aircraft (1954 model C-131) into Opa Locka to pickup something and Bill met us in Popeyes Bus and took us to lunch. That's me on left, Joe, Don, Glen, Craig and Bill on right. CRAAAP, looks like I can't submit pictures. I will try Scream and Fly, Outboard and racing history, Lake X in the 60's

Hi Steve from an offshore fan. Your stories over on S&F are wonderful. The likes of you and Richie should definately get all this stuff into print if it's possible. I am a huge fan of the old days. The racers of today are all doing a great job too - but the golden days for me were the 70´s. God I love those boats!!! By the way - can you confirm for me if this is a cig 36?
And is that Billy Martin??

Thanks again - more stories please!!

Nigel, excuse me if I intervene but I believe you deal with the Jersey Devil III in the version with 6 Mercury instead the original with 4. As for the person that points out 6 with the fingers I don't know Ed Sims but did it perhaps resemble some to Martin?
However there is a recent thread here that speaks of that strange Cigarette.

Nige....I think you may be looking at a young photo of Randy Rabe who was another wild Mercury outboard guy.

The Pacemaker of Randy Raby was a Memco 28' with 4 Mercury. Totally different boat.
There was the Six Pac of Juan Fernandez a Magnum with 6 Mercury.

Hi I'm stefano from Italy, i write here because of a boat found in italy, near Livorno. I'm quite sure it's a '73 cigarette 36 but the only thing i know is it was converted into a pleasure boat as a prototype. I never found pictures of a #717 boat on my books or on the net (and i searched a lot!). probably it's not the original number. Under the black paint it's white. The bad news is that the boat has been hardly modified to make an open deck model and i'm very disappointed about that. I hope it's something interesting for you and i will be very happy if somone here knows something about the boat.
