yes, you have a wet exhaust, there is a waterpickup spot on your transom, or it sucks water through your outdrive, cycles that water through the waterjackets on your block, as well as transmission, engine oil, and powersteering coolers on the boat. make sure when you run the boat at home for any extended period of time to get some outdrive muffs to hook up a garden hose so the engine is cooled.

Thanks for the response on the exhaust. I thought it was. I've got to order new tubes before I go out again, I'm not sure what to get. There is quite a variety of things available. Anyone have any suggestions?

Sam, I can't seem to remember to get the go pro out when we're on the lake. We actually brought it with us this time, so we're getting closer to getting you a video I have one on my cell phone if I could get it to upload. I don't have an awesome plan on my phone. I'm going to go out and snap a picture of that exhaust. How's your project coming along, did you fire that engine yet?

Sweet, I will send that to you first thing tomorrow. (I don't have cell service at my house.)

There is a link above to the exhaust pictures. Check them out and let me know what you think. There are not any scuppers on my exhaust.

Thankyou for the videos!! You should get the stainless ones, not rubber exhaust hose....

You're welcome! The tips are stainless but the tubes are not. They look like a coated fibre with a rubber sleeve. I have pictures on my photobucket. I've been researching and found I could've burned because of high temp or lack of water? My temp was normal. I've read that maybe my risers are plugged? I don't know where these are, assume they are connected to the manifold? I'm going for four days next week. Not going this week because of the exhaust and back pressure issues. I'm going to order new hose, just don't know what to get.

Going to take the go pro and use it and Labor Day Repair pending.

Took off exhaust tonight, added pictures to my photo bucket. The tube is pretty burnt inside as the pictures show. The other side is fine. Should I remove risers too? The side that was burnt is the side that usually shoots water first. Hence the hotter side. Anyone got any ideas? Maybe it burnt because they were old? It was difficult to get off of there. I also have a place to mount a scupper on each, but only the rail.

I got an update:

Changed exhaust, went on lake with new heat gun. Was running 197 and 212 then the hot side jumped to 296 and burned my new exhaust. Sooo, another boat guy suggested I may have a timing issue? Could it be a dry-rotted impeller? It starts off spewing water out of both exhausts, but quickly diminishes, and then burns my side. Had to be towed back by my buddy's chaparral. The side that is hot has the electronic ignition attached to the riser.

I like to post my issues because I know Cigarette Sam may encounter some of the same.

Please pull your sea pump and change the impeller. It will be a whole lot cheaper the burning up your motor. Thats a fairly cheap fix. You can get them on ebay for under $30.00...
