3 weeks or less actual build time was my understanding going in. Can't go by my posting when I got the pics as they weren't necessarily accurate for timeline. Lotsa folks ask for "follow my build pics". They have an in-house media guy who does all kinds for them including his best to accommodate all those requests for build pics from customers

Secondarily, I had heard that they had their schit together pretty good in terms of floor/build flow. Have never found a single tale of significant delay or missed date.

I was told 6 weeks out mine was going in mold 4/4 they hit it within 48-72 hours from what I can tell.

What do you have the double jack mounted to? What is the setback of the double jack itself and the setback of what appears to a bracket its mounted to? Do tell....

Can I call you? Too much to explain... I had the first Black sided Y2K in 2003, would love to talk to you a bit...

Them Eggbeaters show themselves yet? Which ones did you end up getting?

I have one all fresh from the crank up 525 dressed and ready to go. Just took a look see at number two a couple hours ago, not an issue with it either, build it back up and it looks like I'm good for another decade of trouble free hot rod boating. Gas, oil, and go! Braindead boating at it's best!

Cary 29 05-02-2019 06:21 PM

Hey Pete, good for you... you maybe back to the water before me... They're telling me June so fingers crossed. The water levels are the issue again it looks like, not good. But too much is better than not enough.

SUPERSTITIOUS 05-03-2019 07:41 PM

Yes I’ll give you a call just saw your response geez I never put 2&2 together. That makes sense now.

Looked at the other one torn down the other day, no surprise there, looks better than the other one, it was nothing. Just going thru the parts to get list, anything and everything that might be an issue going forward is up to be replaced. Went up and got the info for new bilge pumps and blowers this afternoon, the money has wings, no end to this chit. I have been spoiled by this boat and how cheap it has been to maintain for the last decade plus. WTF I could die and someone would just spend my money on dumb chit.

I'm in no hurry, be happy with the end of June, have the 4th and then the rest of the summer.

Took a look at the water level Friday afternoon, in Odgensburg and down thru to Waddington, looks a little high but not at any problem level that I could see. The Racquette here where we are is running pretty good and that feeds into the St. Lawrence. Nothing like a couple years back.

Cary 29 05-04-2019 08:22 PM

Yeah me too Peter, looking like I won't be able to make it till July 1. Motors coming in June.

Fools and their money are soon parted, so goes the saying. The inner me keeps saying something about Whipples, Whipples are good! You need some Whipples!

Cary 29 05-08-2019 06:57 AM

Now would be a good time to do it... Not to encourage you to go forward or anything....

I have wrestled with this all winter. There was a boat up in Ontario a year or so ago, a 2005, that had been done, ran 114-116 something like that. Was said to be on rails and I believe that to be true based on my time in the Cow with Kelly O at 116 +. The hull will handle the speed, just have reservations about the drives long term. I am sure it would be a hoot and a half to run for sure!

Besides I currently have Dave, aka Axa, covered by close to 70. The Black Fountain spanks the dud Formula once again.

Yeah it was great to speak with you Gary, a pleasure speaking with a Superboat guy who loves Black also... I was told last week that I have mine coming in June. They couldn't get a date but promised June supposedly. Oh well i have to be patient. Everyone says they're worth the wait... Just keep Coen on Pace and dial that thing in with killer rigging. You won't be disappointed. You are building my dream boat. I can tell from what you are doing that it's going to be Awesome.

Funny thing here, was thinking the same thing this morning.

Not that my "Guy" is doing any better for me, have no idea when he might grace me with the time to put the paid for items back in. Just goes to show you that however well you know someone you should never treat them real well and expect them to treat you the same when money is involved.

Why has the world come to this, total BS.

Cary 29 06-16-2019 08:10 PM

Just received the motors this past week. Thrashing now....https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...7710b09b78.jpg

Yes Gary spinning out with 5bl Hills that Randy Corson recommended. 1.75 gear as well, didn't have 1.60 available back when I ordered them. Thanks...

Yeah and a bunch of work, but no complaint here. I'm not in too much of a hurry with the current water levels and I am swamped with other work to do as well. Yes looking forward to it too. Thanks Tom

SUPERSTITIOUS 06-17-2019 08:10 AM

Even when considering my application JC recommended the 1.75 . 1.6 may be better on lighter/catamarans. What pitch prop you going to try.

Twin O/B Sonic 06-17-2019 08:31 PM

Bad ass!

Hurry up Cary, I need a kick in the ass.

scippy 06-17-2019 10:34 PM

Cary besides everything else in regards to performance, the look of those engines hanging back there gives your boat the stealthiest look ever!

26 pitch so I can spin up in the power band.

Made what I hope is the last of the part runs to HBW today, new sea water pumps, and hope to take the boat to Al's in the next day or so for the insertion of the spanky new power. This weather has been the chits and makes it hard. The water at HBW was only a few inches below the Boathouse dock today, still very high for this time of year and lots of tales of dead heads and assorted chit floating down the river, not prime running time by any measure. I'm fine, they will get back in in their own time and then I hope we get some good weather to enjoy it.

Love the pics, those new Mercs are fine looking!

Cary 29 06-26-2019 06:50 AM

Good Pete sounds like you are on your way back to running soon. I am thrashing to get rigging done as well. I hate rushing this time of year. I always did my rerigs over the winter and took my time. Oh well motors didn't show up for that. Tell Sam we said hello and we'll see you soon. God bless...

As it so happens I received the call today and took the boat down this morning for the blessing of the new all perfect motors. Two Hail Marys and an Our Father, little help from the weather wizard and we might be back in the boating biz. Well at some point, somewhat in the near or not so distant future. WTF! Before the creek freezes over.

When it all comes together for both of us we need to do a weekend of river rippin', these two boats running side by side do make a statement.

RaggedEdge 06-29-2019 07:19 PM

Little update for you Cary, as of noon today bullet number one was on the hook and headed into the boat. Al likes to work alone, I left! Came home and mowed the lawn.

How you doing?

Monday update Cary, bullet number two loaded in today. Had to drop off a part for him this morning just as he was starting on number two. Here you go, and I'm outta here. It's that work by himself thing.

Cary 29 07-01-2019 07:44 PM

Sounds like you're getting there. I am a week or so away. Props next week they tell me. I am slammed with work on other things so it's going to be a bit...

Cary 29 07-22-2019 07:01 AM

Peter, I want to thank you for all your input and help on Saturday. I thoroughly enjoyed the time we got to spend testing with your propellers... You are a great friend and a wealth of knowledge. I really appreciate it and will cherish the fun memories and the information that I needed. Talk soon. Can't wait to see you ripping it up in your rig.

SUPERSTITIOUS 07-25-2019 07:25 AM

Cary, I’d love To hear how you are making out with your install and prop testing. Have you had the time to sort out props? Any running shots of that bad boy!!

Cary 29 07-25-2019 05:52 PM

Sorry Gary no running shots yet. Over the hub props couldn't get on plane for nothing....Tachs read 7000.. they tell me that you are sending pulses to Tachs for a 6 cyl. So I have to reset dip switch on Tachs. Gorgeous weekend with the big Poker run up here last weekend. Figured first time out sucked. But a good friend to me brought his wheels and we had a blast testing but too much slip and didn't know about tach situation till this week. But Chad Hill is awesome and sending me different props to try plus making me new ones that should work with the VIDEO well. Turns out the bigger gear case and exhaust from the motors are part of the reason planing is so bad

Cary 29 07-25-2019 06:03 PM

Sorry V8s well

Twin O/B Sonic 07-26-2019 07:45 PM

Welcome to being the first w/that combination.

You know what the experts say then you try it.
If it doesn’t work, then what?

You try and learn.

Keep us posted brother.
