Default Race hatch or Big blower scoops?

Need a lot of extra clearance for my new x dimension and bigger blowers. First thought was raise my hatch and put bigger scoops (we use the sun pad a lot) But then I started thinking about a padded apache style race hatch. Any input?
I think the scoops will be easier.

I would do an Apache style hatch. Raised with a pad for the wife to sun bathe. The back if that boat would look killer with a raised hatch like an old school race boat. I was never a fan of a sunkin hatch.

If you just raised the deck up flush with the side upholstery (looks like 8") would that not give you enough clearance?

No it wont, unfortunately I need about 4 more inches over that.
