Donzi 38 ZRC
Any good comps coming on the market any time soon?
|
Good Comps. are out there but there are quite a few "not good" ones as well. They are great boats, best sit down V made! I know quite a bit about a lot of them and I know many people who know the others, there aren't that many out there. If you need any info on one you find, post the info up here and you will get a good history on the boat.
Best of luck on the search, I will keep my eyes open. |
Here is a list that I compiled on another thread:
Ok, here is a list of the Comps I can come up with: 4 Step (07-10) - Orange 700 in house boat - Black 1075 in Belgium - Red 700 boat - Vice Blue boat - Shelby Blue 525 boat - Shelby Blue 700 boat - Silver w/ Purple and Blue 700 - Silver and Black Aquamania boat - Red 600 boat 2 Step - (5) Super V race boats Red OSG P-1 boat Lightning Strikes JBS (Pleasure Conv. recently done by Nor-Tech) The Red/Blue Art of Design, now a pleasure boat Donzi Factory - (3) F2 race boats JBS Ross's, Snap On Donzi Factory - 500efi side by side - My Boat - Red/White/Blue US-1 - 575 red bottom/red stripe (accident boat) - 575 red stripe (Bad Boys II) - 700 Cobra Powered boat - 525 1//4 Cabin boat - Orange/Yellow #6 boat now painted all Red w/tan interior - Red Ferrari boat - Aqua Toy Store 575 boat - Aqua Toy Store 1075 boat - Lightning Bay boat - P-1 Race boat w/ Arnesons 30 boats accounted for so far: 21 two step and 9 four step :drink: |
You are a wealth of information on these boats! If you hear of anything ,let me know.
|
Craig's 700 Orange comp is a nice boat.
|
The "Lightning Strikes", later called "SOHO" in P1 Europe, was for sale about a year ago in Italy. A rather stiff price thow... But the engines and drives was overhauled and "as new", + alot of other works done.
The seller was the owner & driver; Federico Terenziani. Hav`nt seen it since...? |
any zrc's on the market????
|
This is a great deal in my opinion:
http://www.offshoreonly.com/classifi...o43282-en.html Mike A's boat redone by Nor-Tech (seen it in person and it is beautiful): http://www.popyachts.com/view/3467 This is the "Ferrari" boat, looks like new interior and Vinyl Donzi logos (all I know) http://www.marineextreme.ca/see_boat...t=43&category= 1075 #6 boat in Europe (only 1075 boat built) http://www.yachtworld.com/boats/2009...66224/Bulgaria Not sure if this is still for sale or if it is there: http://www.yachtworld.com/boats/2008.../United-States |
Thanks Tom, appreciate the help.
The thing that is killing me is that there was a 700/NXT ZRC with like 40 hours that sold for $150K, so to me an older race ZRC would be worth around $80k, but I know theres not many built, so you guys (the sellers) hold the upper hand. Not bashing the boats by any means, but I just feel thats where the market is for a non cabin sit down with 525's (03-5 viintage) for it to move. Im all over the place with what I want from older apaches to these because of the low cost of operation with the 525's. I was looking for cats but to insure one properly you are looking at $10k a year, so they are out. |
I know what you are saying but here is the reality.
The $150k 700 boat does not represent the market contrary to what some people say around here. That was a desperate seller unloading the boat to move it. (I know for a fact there were many dealers and manufacturers unloading 1-3 year old "leftover new" boats well below THEIR cost just to collect tax breaks and say they sold xx number of units in a bad economy) It killed all our values. Hopefully that will not happen again and as we cannot regain value, all we can hope is to hold it for a while. That said, the ZRC's are not your typical Donzi. It would be like comparing an SLR McClaren to a run of the mill Mercedes. These boats (up until 2009) were all specially built by the custom and racing division of Donzi in a separate building by a select group of people. I think 150K is a good price for the Miami Ice 525 boat if it includes a trailer. Mike's boat has been rebuilt from the ground up and is amazing. I would not hesitate on it and am sure his pricing is flexible. That said, a 525 boat will run low to mid 90's all day long and not break anything, 700's get you 115. You want to run 90-100 in an Apache.... twin 900 -1100's and #6s may get you there... and what will that maintenance be not to mention older boats with questionable histories.... If you don't need a cabin, you will not find a better running V bottom boat of this size. Yes I am the biggest fan and cheerleader.... but ask anyone else who has owned one or driven one and they will say the same thing. |
What is the #6 1075 boat running for speed? if you are getting 90's out of 525's, the 1075's have got to be crazy fast
|
When I talked with Craig last year he said high 120's.
I was told by a couple of other sources that it was propped down to keep it under 130 due to it getting a little "twitchy" above it. |
I think it is Aquia Mania in NY that might still have one w/Sterling power and Arneson's for sale ?
|
Which 40 hour 700 Nxt comp sold for 150k? Ive been watching the market on these comps for at least 5 years and I've never seen a 700 nxt boat sell for anything close to 150k. If one had been advertised I would have bought it. If you are talking about the red one that pier 57 had that one finally sold for around 200k
|
Thats the boat they are talking about, from my understanding that boat was built as a demo for the factory to use for photos and the video, pier 57 put it on there floor plan to help donzi when sales went into the crapper, donzi then helped pier 57 get it off there floor plan with some financial assistance, don't know wat it finally sold for but it was a smoking deal, ilove my zrc with the 525 set up but the ultimate set-up would be that 700nxt,those boats built with the 700nxt really attracted me to the zrcs the blue one at the miami show was awesome, bought one a few months later the 700 were out of my price range

Mine is still available!

The Pier 57 boat is the one I was referring to. Everyone seemed to think it went for $150k but it didn't. However, there was a 43 Zr that sold "new" for under 200k and a quite a few other inventory clearing deals that helped plummet the used market prices.
|
The pier 57 boat went for around 200k. The guy who wound up buying the gt Shelby blue 525 boat told me he thought he had the 700 boat bought for around 195 but pier 57 called and told him that some guy from Canada was willing to pay more. He then bought the Shelby blue 525 boat - used it for two seasons and had it on here a few months ago for 158ish. That is the boat people are confusing for the same color 700 boat - which has not been up for sale since sold new to my knowledge. If a 700 boat had been advertised anywhere near 150k I would have bought it myself.

I called on that one a few years back as well. The guy wanted around $150k for it. I got the impression that he really didn't need the money and wasn't interested in selling it for less.
Try Powerboats Northwest. They were the dealer listing the boat. (253) 627-4600 |

Which boat is this from your list?? Is it the one with a 1/4 cabin? http://www.offshoreonly.com/classifi...zi-o63094.html |
The JBS F-2 boat? I think Fastboats raced it too. Think it's a side-by-side.
|
That boat should be the former JBS F-2 boat as Bob (Marginmn) said. You can tell its a race boat because it has the three small bow rail sections and the steering is on the right and the trim switches on the port side seat with the throttles in the middle. The "pleasure" versions typically had a left hand steer (mine and some others were set up to race with a second set of throttles in the right gunnel area) and were all staggered.
|
It says it's in pompano, if it's at brand x that is the old jbs boat
|
BTW, a Bimini Top on a ZRC - that is just wrong!:angry-smiley-055:
|
Hey Robert, I just laughed like hell about your comment.

Was this the race boat that was in the wreck with the 03 TS Top Gun paceboat?
|
The ZRC's were made the same race or pleasure when it comes to their layup and build.
The first boats built 2002 into 2003 were side by side race set up for F2 class racing then all the others except for the JBS F2 boat were staggered. The F2 race boats had a bare bones cockpit, 3 piece deck rails, flat lightweight engine hatch, were set up more for two man driving, some had a removable fiberglass hatch to cover the back seat, and engines were side by side. There were also five made to race Super Vee and those had full F-16 canopies, lightweight engine hatches and were originally just two seats. I know at least one of those was converted to a pleasure boat (TAOD painted race boat). The biggest concern with any former race boat is how it was treated, maintained, cared for, and repaired. Race boats take a beating plain and simple - some are great buys and others may not be. Like any boat you really need to get a good survey done and be extra careful when looking at a race boat. |

I ultimately purchased the JBS Super Vee after it had been repaired and converted to a pleasure boat. Nor-Tech painted it and updated the interior. Then I sold it to some great guys in Texas who love it. Runs mid 90's. Boat is now silver and red. Real pretty. |
I assume by reading above, the ZRC listed is a side by side setup?
